  1. Thanks everyone, yes it is M and P, lol, haven't ventured into CP or similar yet, too much candlemaking to do and we have a wonderful local lady who does our CP soap for us for the store. I like playing with the M and P, gives me a chance to make something other than candles and use my molds as well!

    Thanks again.

    Wendy

awesome! how do you get the top to look like meringue?
  2. Just Scents has a "Hot Buttered Rum" that is VERY strong!!
    really?

I needed it a while back I have people who have requested it( after yankee discontinued) I used the fragrance finder and at the time only flying witch had it.. and it really sucked.. both in the bottle and in wax..

  3. HEY that's what I'm trying to figure out!! That's too funny. Pulled the recipe off the net and tried along time ago. I posted to the old forum, and someone called it a folklore. So I decided to one day pull out the recipe and figure it out. When I used it (I tested it in my kitchen sink) stuff once it "broke down" would float on the top of the water- disgusting :tongue2: so that's what I'm trying to eliminate. I'm assuming sense you eliminated the egg you didn't bake it. SO your saying that the egg just should not be used that's what the nasty gloppy part is from? TIA :)
yup.. As soon as I saw that bath cookie recipe I knew it was crap:D eggs baked in there.. they bind it all together and it wont dissolve completely..dont bake it air dry, you could bake at low temp to DRY I suppose.. you still wont get a baked appearance... so I tinted it to make it look more like a cookie.. the ned reseult I got was similar to the OLD bath cubes.. remember those? Not quite as hard though..yet they may get harder they set.. try something else to be a binder... you have to have something to hold it together like the egg did...the best consistancy pre dry should be like that of wet sand..any drier and it wont shape , wetter and it will crumble later when you touch it.
  4. ..what the egg is good for?? The white and the yolk? I'm trying is tweak a recipe and want to know if I can leave one of these parts out of the recipe. :embarasse (embarassed) to say I don't know cosmetically the benefits of an egg. Hope someone can help! TIA:)

you sound like me.. I just modified the old bath cookie recipe... the egg it in was only used as a binder in order to bake it.. but the cooking of the protiens is what made the old one so nasty and gloppy.. i finally got it down without eggs.

  5. I just bought some clear cosmetic bags that I'd like to use a holiday theme w/. Peppermint scrub and lip balm. Would like to do a soap, lotion, maybe a bath salt. What would you recommend as a complimentary scent? I was think w/ the scents I have warm vanilla sugar. I'll take any combo ideas though. Do most stick w/ one scent when doing bags or baskets? TIA :)

a lot stick with one scent..but complimetary ones are nice esp holiday themed ones. I don't know about peppermint with warmvanilla sugar(you could rename it though!!.. but maybe with

    cranberry, eggnog,hot cocoa,pumpkin etc etc

  6. I am wanting to play a bit with wax and making something more creative(bakery types) what wax do I need, to cut and model like clay while warm etc... I know I can do this with plain ole gulf wax.. but i want something that will throw and burn well. This is a completely different area for me.

  7. made these today.. I like them!!

A Smidge of water soluable color

    Part B (Liquid Ingredients)

1 1/2 Tablespoons glyceryl cocoate( you can sub ploysorbate 80)

    Part C

2 tablespoons (about 30g) cocoa butter Melted

    Method 1. Grease/spray the mold

    4. Melt the Cocoa Butter in its own container and set aside

    5. Pour Part B (liquid ingredients) into Part A (Dry Ingredients) and mix well until they resemble fine breadcrumbs

    6. If you work too slowly, you might activate the mixture and it will start to look like marshmallow

    7. Now pour in the Cocoa Butter

    8. Place moulds into the freezer for 10 minutes to set them quickly

    9. Unmold the bars, easing carefully from the molds
