  1. Thanks, but I don't think that's it. It is marked as a container blend and I don't *think* I've ever ordered from AWE before. But I could be wrong. lol Did they used to carry a container blend of this wax?
  2. Oh no...don't say the D word. lol I was wrong about the wording on the bag. It actually says "Natural Crystal Wax". It doesn't say palm, but I am sure that's what it is. If by CS you mean Candle Science, I don't think that's it. I didn't order from them until recently (not that I can remember, anyway! lol) I have ordered from C&S, though, so it could be from there. I'm not sure why a company wouldn't put more info on the label. You need to be able to reorder w/o looking back at past invoices. I guess that will be my next step. Sheesh, I'm not looking forward to dragging all that stuff out!
  3. Thanks, Steve. I don't think it's from Candlewic. I have the palm 2 from them and it has a very nice label on it. C&S is a possiblity though. I've ordered from a million different places in the past, so it could be from anywhere! :rolleyes2 I also found a crystallizing wax at Nature's Garden. I guess I'll just start emailing everyone who carries it and ask them what it looks like. lol Thanks!
  4. I am getting back to the candle business after a 2 year break. I had a baby and when he turned 2, I just couldn't keep up with everything. He is now 4 1/2 and MUCH easier to handle. lol I wanted to do something different than what I was doing before, so I was testing the Glass Glow palm, but when CS discontinued it, I couldn't justify the shipping price for getting it from anywhere else. So I switch to testing a soy/paraffin blend, which is what I had used before. After using the palm, though, they just look "boring". While going through my supplies I found a bag of wax with one simple label on it. It says "crystallizing palm wax" and "container blend". I have no idea where I got it from or when I bought it...but it was at least 2 years ago. So I got a wild hair and decided to test a couple of candles with it. Wouldn't you know, this stuff is GREAT! It looks similar to GG, but with a slightly finer crystal structure. In the bag it is very small round "discs". Not a flake like GG or granular like Starburst. The color is slightly off-white, almost identical to the Starburst. Anyone have any idea what this could be and where I could get more? I would love to do some more testing with this stuff, but I only have a few pounds left. I may run into the same problem as the GG with the shipping cost, but at this point, I just want something pretty. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
  5. That was my point. Someone who chooses to do a repour will have a heavier candle than someone who chooses not to. They'll look the same (volume-wise) on the outside, but the one with a repour will weigh more.
  6. lol...threads about volume & weight always crack me up. Yes a pound is a pound, but a pound is also a certain number of liquid ounces, depending on what type of material it is. I have been getting about 6.5 oz (by weight) of wax in my "so called" 8.25 oz (by volume) container. So, my best guess would be that 16oz (by weight) of palm wax would melt to be 20.3oz of liquid. True, you'll need some for a repour if you choose to do so, but the container is still going to hold the same amount of wax. You'll just be filling in air pockets that form. Hope this made a tiny bit of sense. :smiley2:
