  1. I saw them for the first time yesterday and the warmers that are $15 are like small versions of the mid-size Scentsy warmers. I'm not worried about them. The tarts haven't shown up yet but if they are like Yankee tarts, no worries :) Honestly, as long as my customer has a warmer then I can usually sell my tarts so it's all good.

  2. I received an order from Peak's today and the Pink Sugar is somewhat crystalized but it smells wonderful and can't wait to get it in some wax.

The packing slip contained a note from them that stated occasionally bottles will crystalize during shipping because the FO's are fully concentrated, especially during the winter months. It says to loosen the cap and set the bottle in a bowl of hot water to get rid of crystals.

  3. Okay, I think my plan for the future will be asking them if they have a booth and who is taking care of their customers?!?!?! Then asking them if they are serious about buying and giving them the evil stare down.

I'm normally all about being friendly with people no matter the circumstance or how rude they are but hateful vendors that come back repeatedly trying to kill sales need to be dealt with!

    P.S. I outsold Scentsy!!!!!

  4. At the last two shows I've had a couple vendors(I didn't realize they were) come to my booth and make rude remarks. One said my wax dipped bears were creepy and went on from there, the other was going on and on about my scent names not explaining what they smelled like (Intrigue- a man's scent??? how do you explain perfume scents, lol)

I went around the shows and figured out that they were vendors not even selling anything remotely competitive. I was very nice and acted like I hadn't heard them bad mouthing my products.

How do you get people like this away from your booth? It's like a petty jealousy thing that they aren't selling and drive off other people that are actually looking. The last women(jewelry vendor that made crap stuff) came to my booth 5 times and was talking to my customers about how she thinks my scent names are stupid. Ignoring her did no good because she kept coming back.

  5. Luminous and Chrisin.....those look gorgeous! Very well done and laid out....they make me want to touch which is half the battle in getting people engaged to conversate and buy. I hope to be half that good very very soon! Thanks to both of you.

  6. I have a request for carrot cake and found it at several companies. Has anyone tried a carrot cake FO and can you give me specifics on ST, vendor it was purchased from and description ect of the scent you used? I'm using a parasoy blend and would like to make some tarts as the person that requested it sells at crafts shows(and she has been buying Scentsy) and would help me with word of mouth sales.

    Thanks all!

  7. what about camu camu? I know a lot of people (on a mommy board) that are into/selling scentsy and that is one of the biggest ones they talk about. but I can't find it anywhere - any search just tells me what a camu camu plant is. but no dupes/fragrances come up.

Camu camu is pushed really hard by Scentsy marketing as one of their top selling fragrances but I think it's one of the few scents that they actually came up with on their own. The first time I smelled it, I thought they must have had a big boo boo and needed to sell out of it so were promoting it.

  8. Stella thanks for all the info! I will call the manufacturer if this happens again.

Have you tested the wax to see if it burns different. I get that often with soy wax. Kinda like frosting on the flakes.. It has not affected the way my candles burn or smell.. So even tho it looks funny, it still might perform fine.

It doesn't burn differently and melts like it should but I couldn't get much scent throw from it. Even adding paraffin did not help much. I used the same recipes that were used with 464 but had very different results so have decided to keep the wax for a scentless project.

  9. This thread kinda jumped out at me and I need help!!!

I'm currently set up in a salon and restaurant but those two were easy because I have known them forever. I walked into a flower/gift shop that looks really nice right around the corner from me and she is having problems selling her Tyler stuff so I offered to show her the things I make. She was very interested and even gave me more contacts to talk to at the local chamber of commerce. I didn't mean to set up an account but just have a look at the shop but she started talking about soy candles and it went from there :yay: (I started talking about scent throw for paraffin vs soy) She wants me to come back to show her what I make which is no problem but what about agreements? Ideas??? The lady is just sweet as can be and a retired school teacher turned business owner. I'm pretty excited!

  10. Same thing here. I quit selling on Ebay. I had signature receipts but Paypal took the buyers money back from my account. They blamed it on Ebay but then when I paid the money back into my account that the buyer basically stole from me, they disabled my account. I had sold over 200 things on there and this happened to me 3 times. Two of the times, I went ahead and refunded the buyer the money because it was less than $10 but not the last time. Ebay and Paypal are not a seller's friend.

Also, I was paying for the business account from Paypal ($20 a month) and if you have that, they only hold your money 4 days.

I think they hold money so that they can collect interest off of it...........think about how much interest you can collect off millions for 21 days.

  11. My cousin that is a Scentsy consultant is smell testing for me.

Scensty Lucky In Love = Love Spell by CS

Clean Breeze = Cool Cotton by CM

Pima Cotton = Sunwashed Linen CS

Cinnamon Bear - cinnamon stix (by any good fo supplier)

Blueberry Cheesecake = blueberry cheesecake by CS

Scentsy's scents are all copies from Yankee, VS, BBW, and a couple more candle companies that I never figured out. I'm trying to stay away from the exact scents that Scentsy is making except the ones that sold well year round for me which were Love Spell, Clean Breeze, Pima Cotton, Sugar Cookie, and Simply Irresistable.

The Sugar cookie should smell like super sweet vanilla with a hint of lemon. Anyone have suggestions on where to find something like that?

  12. Today, I broke down and called Lonestar about the CB135 that has white chunks all through it because they have not called me back after checking their warehouse like they said they would. They told me veggie wax is never consistant but to me it looks like a very bad batch and has no scent throw no matter what I mix in to help. :waiting:

I offered to send a 2lb sample back to them but am not having much luck here. Are we just out the money when we get a bad batch of wax?

  13. Hi Swewill 5

I have also heard Candlemakers is good- the only hesitation I had is no scent descriptions- so please let me know how you like them. I just placed an order with Bitter Creek South and I will let you know how I like their scents. Every dime we can save in shipping expense the better! CS is my favorite so far as well- love their scents and the fact that they have a soy rating-I just wish they had more variety. Have you used their Angel? Love this one but in container candles I cannot wick it right- I think the oil is to heavy and I use the 8oz. sq. mason jars so I dont think 2 wicks would work but I am going to try the CD wicks and hope they work!

Angel from CS is very strong. I'm allergic to this one so going to have others test the hot throw after curing. It's perfumey and strong even cold.

I got the Candlemakers FO's in but allergies are going nuts so can't smell them very well. Huge waaa, I'm such a whiner. lol I'm going to post the FO's in the Fragrance only thread :)

The Candlemakers FO's should be in tomorrow and I will test asap.

Candlescience is still the best so far for me. I have their Angel and will test it tonight. From the bottle it seems like it will be heavy like CS's linen fo's.

  15. Oh, it's hard to change anything up if you have good scent throw. I don't use those waxes but would hate to change if you have the throw down pat. Lonestar clamshells are hard to open/shut but are okay. I have another batch from a different vendor and they open/close easier. It's probably just a matter of experimenting with the waxes.....I have an experiment going right now :)
