  1. I agree with above posters. Sounds masculine and confusing. Maybe create a signature scent and make that you signature scent name of create a collection of things and name the collection Valiant August collection so you can still keep the name somewhere within your business.

  2. jack, did you do a video when you made the kitchen soap with the pumice and coffee grounds? Did you have to do the layer thing like the oatmeal in order to get the pumice and grains evenly distributed?

  3. I think in your heart of hearts, you knew you would sell the business. I'm asking this questions not expecting an answer but if you bought a house, you knew when you bought it that it would no way hold your candle making business. That's a lot of equipment to need room for. If keeping the business was a priority, you probably would have chosen a different house. Very best wishes selling the business! Selling a home based business is about the market value of used equipment/assets, the profit value of the contracts/wholesale account and expected first year total profit. The value of your "formulas" and supplier list will be hard to assess with a value unless it is highly unique.

  4. I have a facial polishing cleanser product I bought from a home based etailer and I would like to use the same base she did to create a foot scrub type product. I have no doubt this person used a base and tweaked from there. I would like to find this base but since I have no way of knowing what she added and what was the base, I can't get an 'answer' from google. Maybe some of you will recognize it in some way. I'm pretty sure she added the shea butter and extracts and crystals.

distilled water, shea butter, ammonium cocoyl isethionate, cocamidopropyl betaine, aluminum oxide crystals, emulsifying wax, caprylic/capric triglycerides, sorbitol, cetyl esters, cetyl alcohol, ginko biloba leaf extract, olive leaf extract, roobios tea extract, white tea extract, green tea extract, diazolidinyl urea, iodopropynyl butylcarbamate

  5. I'm just venturing back into room sprays. I made up some earlier today using 91% alcohol & southern style vanilla fo in a 4 ounce bottle I used about 1 ounce of FO because I want it strong. I'm very impressed & pleased. It's crystal clear, no shaking the fo mixed well in the alcohol. I just sprizted a couple of sprays & it smells awesome. I'm going to continue using this method to make sure it mixes as well with other FO's. If this works out it cost me about 1.00 for a 16 ounce bottle alot cheaper than buying bases & paying shipping. IMHO

Did you use 1 ounce FO in 16 oz of alcohol?

  6. I've been over at TBK trading dozens of times looking at colorants for MP soap. Can someone help me with about how much colorant I need for a 1 lb of base? I know this will vary by how deep I want my colors but I have no clue on mica, oxides or the glycerine based liquids. A teaspoon of liquid for 1 lb? Would that be the equivalent of 1/8 teaspoon in a mica or oxide? Any guidance is appreciated.

  7. Such fun! I couldn't get my lavender buds or cranberry seeds to "suspend" in my first ever batch of MP soap. Wishing you tons of success that your clay suspends and then you can teach me!!!!!
