Can anyone tell me why when I poured my CP into the log mold the top was like glass and after it gelled it was really rippled. I used Sandalwood as an FO but other than that it is the same recipe that I always use.

I bought a bunch of round silicone molds from WSP, made soap and when I unmolded I washed the molds and they really retained the FO smell. I soaked them overnight but smell is still there. Interestingly, I have used Wilton silicone cupcake molds before and no problem with the smell. Any ideas on how to get rid of this. I could find nothing on the internet about it that actually worked.

What is the advantage of buying EO's over FO's. Do you use less EO in a recipe? Is there more fragrance staying power with an EO. I just don't understand why you would pay more for a fragrance unless there was an advantage other than it is natural.

How do you know how much FO to add pp of oils? I'm a newbie and in the class I took she said to add .5 pp of oils however I bought a bunch of FO from WSP and added .5/pp oil and you can barely smell it. Is it a trial and error with each fragrance? TIA Also, what about EO--do you add less?
