  5. Going by the wick guide on CS the LX wicks seem to be the best for a 2.5-3" would be a LX-16 and a 3-3.5" a LX-22. Their guide has always helped me as a great starting point. Here is the link to it if you would like to play with it... http://www.candlescience.com/learning/wick-guide.php Good luck!!!
  6. i use the IGI 4625, and works great with out the additives... here is my info and pics if you like.... http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92560 good luck!!! mark
  7. This has been a great topic... and though I have not read through every page I hope that I am not re-doing the same info... Here is my small two cents worth: if anyone rembers chemistry class that any fuel when the burning flame is any color other than blue than it is not complete combustion there for having some soot or unburned carbon... a complete/clean burn example would be the blue flame on your propane or nat. gas stove and not a yellow flame or pure alcohol that burns clear. Hope this helps in giving a different look and true data....
  8. I love that Wax... I use the HTP73 with a 3" jar and up too 10%FO I get my wicks from CS they have a great wick guide on there page and has always worked great for me... Mark
  9. As a tip to make heat guns last longer, when you turn it off and finished using it stand it up right heat nozzle up to let it cool down I have had a few over the years and they will last much longer. Because when you switch it off the fan stops blowing and the element does not cool down as fast and will shorten the life.... Just my 2 cents Mark
  10. I just recv. some new FOs of the following from Lone star: Pink(type), Dream angels-Halo(type), warm vanilla sugar (type) and Midsummers night (type)... and the only one that seems to have any real smell or throw out of the bottle is the midsummers night? are these scents that weak? Has anyone tried or use these FOs? just wandering as most straight from the bottles I have used are vary strong.... and these seam vary weak... I look forward to seeing what you all think. Thanks Mark
  11. sorry the mottle pillar was made with the IGI 1274 wax with 3% FO and poured at 185-190 Deg. F and covered with a box to slow the cooling... takes at least 6-8hrs before second pour to top off.... Mark
  12. yes i have been ordering from candle science and vary happy with them... but the shipping is more than the wax, would love to be able to get it locally to save the shipping....
  13. Yes Debbie, it was the IGI 4625 with only liquid dye added If I remember the mix right it was CS lq. dye Ivory 6-8 drops in two lbs. of was with a 3-4 yellow dye.... no I did not freeze or use a water bath... room temp was around 80-85 deg. F pour temp was 153 deg.F just poured slow and even with quick rocking motion of the wrist holding the mold while pouring. You may want to use something around the mold as t will get vary warm quick, but I might not be too smart there as I am afraid of the mold slipping and dropping it..... lol I am no expert, but do love to share what I have learned if it can help someone. So all please ask. Mark OH yes the sent was Rain Water from candle science, I need to get more everyone that has smelled it loves it....
