  1. This will be my first year having a retail shop, and I am already thinking about christmas. How many holiday/christmas scents would be good to carry? I don't want to have a lot left over at the end of the season but enough of a variety to carry me over. If that makes sense. I have already tried several christmas fragrances from NG, but need to start trying others. Sooo suggestions please.

  2. I love NG fragrances. I have gone thur a pound of Monkey Farts and Dragon's Blood in 2 weeks. It seems like thats all I am making, I have tried trick or treats, raindeer poo, loving spell, and berry bewitching brew. They all smell great and big sellers for me.

  3. The title says it all. I bought Titanium Dioxide for the whitening part, but no matter how much I use it will not turn white. Now i am not using a BUNCH per say, but with a 3# batch of lemon supreme. I used OO, CO, Lard, and mango butter. I used 2 tsp of TD and still not white. Help me figure this out pleeeease.

  4. My friend does etched glass for me, for my store. I will find out some info for you. But just so you know, she gets some of her glass at dollar tree. Here is a beer mug she does for my shop, and it sells for $7.00.

  5. Well, this is all my husbands fault. I own a Candle Shop and he thought it would be great to add our own soaps to the shop. I said no way, thats just stupid. Well I finally started looking at the soaping board and thought wow what great pictures of soap. I was hooked because the creative side of it. I couldn't image that it would be so good for your skin and nice to use.

I went to the lumber store today, with a piece of paper with measurements for my own log mold. So today, I built my own log mold and they sell lye in there as well. Soooo, exciting about the lye. Less then 3 blocks from my shop.

  6. I gave my sister a small piece to try out the other day. She graciously took the soap at the same time she was rolling her eyes. She came into my shop today and I was in the back, she yelled from the front that she was clean. I came out and said what, she had finally used the soap and said she was clean, and skin was soft, and it smelled great. She wants more. One family member down, alot more to go. hehe

  7. Ok, I was deterined to try again. So, this time sprayed really well with pam olive oil spray, poured my chocolate raspberry drizzle soap in the pipe. I let it sit for 24 hours for good measure, and then today popped it in the freeze for about 2 hours, and success that baby came out looking like a cow patty. I used to much cocoa power, but it came out smoothly and was able to make perfect one inch disc.

The first try was very hard to remove, it took a lot of hours in the freezer, and 3 inch gold lid from one of my candles that I sell and a roll of tape from my cash register. I was at one end holding the tube and my husband was at the other with a broom handle stuck in there shoving the soap out. Oh, the memories. hehe

  8. Barb it is CP and I did put in the freeze. All the info I read after I realized what I did was to put in the freeze for a couple of hours or longer if nesassary. Hehe, maybe I did something wrong because is was horrible to get out. Thanks for telling me what you use. I saw that one person rubs vasline in the tube as well but I have small children and actually have baby oil here. A fine mist is what I am going to try.

Thanks again, I just wanted to share my experience with all and quitly laugh at myself.

  9. Ok made another batch and really wanted to try PVC Pipe. After finally figuring out what I need to do to cap the end, I was so excited to try it. That I poured it in the pipe and let it sit for 24 hours, and then oooops it wouldn't come out. Forgot to spray pipe first.

  10. I did the simple soap recipe Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, and Sweet Almond Oil as my first recipe. I tried it today after its curing time and it is the best thing since slice cheese. I feel soooo clean. I used no fragrance and no color, because of the suggestions on this site. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that contributes to these boards and their help.
