I've used sticky wax to stick things to candles. Most wax suppliers carry it. You need such a tiny bit. with the paper, you would probably have to spread it on very thinly, but I'm sure it would work.
Great idea Dee! That would work - especially for the larger pieces!

I didn't make it to the retreat..maybe next year
But what did you use to drill the hole?
OK - I am going to sound like a total knob because I am tool challenged but it is a bit you attach to a drill and the bit is for making holes...so maybe it's call a hole bit :rolleyes2 Dunno

I have to admit - I learned that trick from a gal named Pat at a Candle Retreat hosted by Village Craft and Candle in Ontario.
It's a great trick especially if you make embedded candles (with florals and such)
Thanks everyone!

That is so beautiful!!!! How on earth did you do it - Are the daisies painted on??
Good job, that candle looks fabulous :highfive:
Thanks guys! I was abit stressed trying to make this candle! I attached the daisies (which are small paper cutouts I got from Michaels in the card section) using a sodering pen. I melted a small pool and stuck the daisies in and voila they stuck!!!
I tried spray adhesive first but that didn't work so I got the sodering pen at Canadian Tire for $5! I think it will come in handy for future projects!
I didn't wick this candle...my fiance drilled a hole in the top the size of a tealight. I made her a couple of tealights in the lavendar colour to put in the hole.

Attached is a pic of my centrepieces. They will be sitting on a banana leaf and I will be making some glass t-lights to spread around the table.
We are getting married in Costa Rica and are trying to incorportate the ocean/rainforest theme into our reception when we get home.
Opinions are greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks guys - the plain was referring to the scent!!! I love vanilla but it's not quite an "exotic" scent now is it? I have a few more with that colour scheme in vanilla - I'll post this afternoon.

I love it! What size mold is that, if you don't mind my asking.
It's a 4x4 aluminum mold - round!

We thought it was a cool idea too! I came up with the idea as we are having a destination wedding but I researched on the net and found a great little company called My Personal Artist that specializes in beach themed wedding invites.
Thanks again!

We actually hand delivered most of the invitations. I had to mail about 8 of them and I found some great boxes that fit perfectly. I put some sizzle in the bottome of the box and wrapped the bottle in bubble wrap - no complaints of broken invitations!!
We had alot of fun putting them together and they are a great keepsake especially for people who can't make it to our wedding.

Does anyone know where I can find these: cacti, first nation, kokopelli, horse, wolves/coyotes etc etc? These are for embedding in containers, pillars mainly.
Many thanks!!!!
