  1. I use C-3, with 1lb - 1oz ratio, sometimes 1.5oz.

I had a horrible time with air pockets, & craters, but I add about 1/2 cup of Snowtop soy wax to 1lb of C-3, and that seems to have taken care of that.

I had an awful time wicking C-3 though. I have to use HTP 126 in my 1/2 pint wide mouth jelly jar to get the scent throw, and mp I am looking for.

I add my FO btw 175-180 deg. and pour when it just becomes slightly cloudy.

    HTH, Renee:grin2:

  2. You poured a CASE but haven't tested for hot throw?? WOW! You're very brave! LOL I think I have a sample of it, but haven't had time to test many new scents the past few months... :cry2:

I poured 12 Jelly jars. I usually place them all over the house, and then see how they burn, scent throw, etc...:smiley2:

I find that I can have a hard time judging how strong the hot throw is in an open concept kitchen, so the other rooms in the house work well for me.

If they burn well, and I am happy with the throw, I then pass them on to a friend, who lets me know what she thinks.:grin2:

  3. Just got this, and will be pouring some candles to see. I am not crazy about the smell oob though. I want to give it a try in wax though. I LOVE JS, so I hope its better!!!:grin2:

I will be pouring C-3, probably 1lb to 1.5oz to start, and see.

I always llike to add less if I can.:wink2:

    I will keep you posted.

  4. Thanks Marilyn!!:rolleyes2

I did a search for them last night, and I think I typed it wrong. Nothing came up!! LOL!!:embarasse

I am currently using HTP for my 1/2 pint wide mouth Jelly jars, and I think they are leaving too much soot. Not happy with that.

I am testing the Premier 700 series, and I think the 777, or 775 will be great.

My only concern at this point is mushrooming. I think I might go ahead and order anyway.;)

  5. Received my sample from Wick it, and these wicks seem really nice.

I am wondering if anyone had any experience with these, and maybe

    your thoughts on them.

I am looking to wick 1/2 pint wide mouth Jelly jars.

I am currently using HTP, they work well, but I am looking for ones that dont curl as much. I have only done a couple of test burns, and so far the Premier wicks are pretty good.

    Thanks so much, Renee:yay:

  6. Will do! I don't think I will be able to wait more than 24 hours to burn these babies! ha ha Going to burn them tonight, one in each room so I can figure the throw from this batch. So far, like I said, my house still smells like the candle. My husband came home after I had added the FO, I met him outside, we hugged, and he said that I smelled like frosting.

    Tash:highfive:

    Too Funny!!!:P

My husband comes home now and says"let me guess, candles and not a wonderful pumpkin pie"

I have only sampled from ST, but the samples I have are incredible!!!

I just wish she had more to choose from.

I really try to wait at least a week before I burn my candles bx I am using C-3 Naturewax instead of Snowtop. I can get it locally, so I save big on S/H.

C-3 seems to need a longer cure time than ST.

It kills me to wait though!!!!

    Keep me posted!!:yay:

  7. I've been using this wax since about Sept. and I think I finally have it down.

I add my FO at 175, then I wait until the wax starts to get a little cloudy, and there is slight thick feeling to the wax.

I pour into the jars, and seem to get really nice smooth tops, no air pockets.

I do pour this at a much warmer temp than another straight soy I was using before.

    HTH, Renee

  8. I got a sample of the Pumpkin Nog too.

I poured in in C-3, HTP 104 1/2 pint wide mouth JJ &

C-3, Hemp 1200 1/2 pint wide mouth JJ. (Testing wicks):rolleyes2

    I poured at 1lb to 1oz ratio.

I love this!! It is a nice creamy, rich Pumpkin scent.

I would up the FO to 1.5oz per 1lb the next batch.

I am getting a list together to take advantage of her incredible sale!!:P

  9. Hi Heather!!

    :shocked2: You read my mind!!!

I was doing great with testing wicks, wax, FO's etc... Thought I was on the right track, but now there were 2 of my candles that did the curl thing. They burn clean to the edge if its straight. I figure I just need to trim the wick, and start over, but seems like maybe I am doing something wrong. Cant seem to figure the difference. One is the 4oz JJ, C-3, HTP 93,and one is the 8oz wide mouth JJ C-3, HTP 104.

 Different scents in each of these jars, same wax, same size wicks that I have always used. Cant figure it out.

Thought maybe I should wick up, and the HTP 104 in the 4oz JJ is way too much. It smokes, and no matter how much I trim it, I get like a 2 inch flame1 Yikes!!! Havent tried the HTP 105 for the 8oz Wide mouth.

Everyone is so right!! Always learning more!!!;)

  10. I just poured my first FO order from CandleChem, and so far I love them.

I poured Cinnamon Bun in C-3, 1.5oz to 1# of wax. Unbeleivable cold throw, and just as great hot throw!!

Maple Pecan I poured same ratio, same wax, except I added Peak's Pie Crust @.5oz, and the Maple @1oz. Makes Maple Pecan Pie. Love this one too!!!

Harvest Spice has been my best seller this season so far. Strong wonderful spicey scent, incredible hot and cold throw.

Home sweet Home is spicey, but a woodsey and fruitey background. Great too.

Cranberry Wood Spice, love this scent, but not strong. Very light cold throw, and light hot throw too.

I have Apple strudel, but havent poured yet.

Hope that helps!!! It was super fast shipping for me. I live in Ma. so I got my order the next day!!! Gotta love that!!!:cheesy2:
