  1. My iPhone automatically configures the most websites to be mobile friendly. If you touch the menu button on the webiste you are looking at it gives you all the pages from the site and it also has a couple extra buttons that say "Mobile Site" or "Full Site".

It makes it much easier to navigate and to see the website contents.

  2. Ah bummers, I'm starting to run low on the stuff myself. Will be curious what responses you get to this.

I know, I love their oils but the last year their prices keep going up and up.

I love millcreeks. I have not compared it elements, so no help there.

I will have to order a sample...

Never used Elements but I love Oregon Trail's Ginger lime

Looked at Oregon Trail but did not see a Ginger Lime-could it be called something different? Plus they look to be in the same price range as Elements, add in shipping from the West Coast and it will be $$.

  3. Who has a great Ginger Lime that is very close to Elements. We love the one from Elements but its starting to get pricey. We just ordered from them and its went up to $24.99/lb

Has anyone used the one from Milcreek? We do order some FOs from them.

    Any suggestions?

  4. They don't show shipping until it is shipped out. If you order $300+ they cap the shipping at 15% so it is much easier to calculate. Not sure if that is for all US or not, but I think it might be for people east of the Mississippi.

Last summer I ordered about $180 worth of warmers and the shipping was around $70+.

Not sure if the 15% shipping cap will be all year or not.

  5. Thanks Bah! I appreciate the insight. My major concern is the fees that they mention are the only fees that apply. Its just sales percent and transaction fee and thats it right? There isn't some hidden customer service fee or other weird charge that shows up on a bill or anything like that.

Its a percentage of the sale plus a fee per swipe, like 30 cents or something. I think its 2.5% to swipe and 3.5 or 3.7% if you key the card in. so its not bad, you just have to make sure you don't go over the $1000 a week limit.

  6. Square changed their hold policy last month, before they changed it, it was if you charged over $1100 (i think) within 30 days they held the amount over that limit for 30 days and then deposited it in your bank account. They changed it to $1000 per week. If you charge more than a thousand a week the remainder is held for 30 days.

You can apply for an increase, you need to:

    1. bank or merchant statements with at least three months history substantiating this need

    2. invoices or contracts with vendors or other trade references

    3. consent to a credit check (as a last measure)

(We know because we contacted them about an increase. So we may do this, after all of our research it does have good rates without monthly fees.)

Its good for shows etc, but we are going to do a couple wholesale markets, etc and most businesses cannot wait 30 days for the remainder to be deposited since alot has to be re-invested.

  7. Thanks,i did the room temp too,no drafts, hoping to decide what wick to start with,I have used zinks in the past but it was recommended to me eco-then htp then lx,so the testing goes on,loooove it.lol:rolleyes2

I have the melt pools measured:

    eco2 -3/4 inch

    eco 4 -1 1/4

    eco 6 -1 inch

    zink 51 -3/4 inch

    on jj.

Those melt pools look too deep to me. I take it you are measuring the depth. Looks like you need to wick down, we have found the mp depth of 1/4-3/8 is ideal.

  8. I also use 415 and pour at around 90 degrees and have found my tops grainy like sand. Its the closest I can come to smooth. I cant imagine hitting every single candle with a heat gun. I have poured numerous different temps and cannot get "smooth". What temp are you pouring at?

You might try a little cooler, it really depends on your location, jar type, FO, time of the year etc. We use a frosted tumbler and a jelly jar and we mostly use the heat gun to hit the area around the wick to get rid of the "nipple".

In the winter we pour the wax a little warmer and in the summer a little cooler, same with our containers- we heat them less in the winter and more in the summer. But that is what works for us.

Aldo make sure you consistent with your stirring, especially when the 415 is starting to turn cloudy, We stir a lot when this happens until we pour.

  9. Hobby Lobby is only thing near besides Wal-Mart and Target. Everything else is almost 2 hours away. :sad2:

You should order some wax from a good supplier, even a 2 hour drive is not bad for quality wax, FO's, wicks and etc. I drive 90 minutes to get our wax.

Here is the link to suppliers: http://www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5492 Look and see what suppliers are close to you in Missouri and order samples of different waxes, most have samples of 1#, 5# or 10# so you can test and see which ones you like.

  10. We use 415 and get great tops, sometimes we do hit them for a couple seconds wit a heat gun, but they are as smooth as any other candle. Even after burning they can have a rough texture, but its due to the FOs used. We have found that the spicy ones will tend to have rougher tops, but not always...while others are smooth as glass.

And we have never had customers complain or have never heard any commits about the tops.
