Recently my wax in my candles starting looking wavy around the edges at the glass. It's adhering to the glass well but just looks wavy. The rest of the top of the candle looks nice and smooth. Any ideas? Thank you.

I have some candle scents that throw great in the beginning but then half way down the candle jar don't seem as strong. Wick wise they seem to be burning great. Full melt pool. Perfect size flames. Not too small and yet not big flames or dancing etc. Is there a scientific reason for this I'm not knowing? haha

Just saw this tread. Definitely intrigues me. When I first started candle making it seems there were more companies that concentrated on scents for candles. Now it seems more for soap. So it's been a challenge. My customers do not like bakery scents. Or florals. They like earthy scents and it can be a challenge to find ones that throw well in candles.

oh nice! Thanks for the update. Blackberry Sage always threw well for me but didn't sell. Same for the Rose.

I don't know about that one, but I ordered the peak's version of Amish Harvest from keystone and no matter what I do I can't get it wicked. Drowns out when wicking up or going way down in percentage. But the original I didn't even have to wick up.

I have one more question. I will be having all my supplies and finished product in our apartment and pay renters insurance. If lets say pipes burst and there was damage to my supplies, would that be covered under my renters insurance?

Hello Everyone,
I made and sold candles for about 10 years. At Farmer's Markets, at a restaurant gift shop and on line. I did not have Liability insurance. Just an LLC. I stopped when we moved across the country. Fast forward 5 years later I'm looking to relaunch in a larger Metropolitan area so this time I'm going to be an LLC and get Liability Insurance. Our State Farm Insurance gave me this quote. Does this seem like excessive coverage? Like way more than what I need? I mostly just want to protect myself from being sued. And my inventory in case of burst pipes or something. I'll admit I don't much about insurance coverage. I've been on the ball about getting a new LLC, hiring a registered agent, Getting DBA, sales permit, EIN, ett. But this I'm a bit in the dark. I've attached her quote. Granted I didn't give her a lot of direction. Just told her I wanted product Liability. But I'm seeing some other things attached I'm wondering if I need. Any input would be appreciated!

Hi guys. I've noticed there are several fragrances Sweet Cakes no longer carries. I was about to test some oils I had gotten a couple of years ago and saw they are no longer carried. Are they slowly getting rids of ones to go out of business has anyone heard? I don't want to add any to my line if I can't get it in the future. Thanks!

Did/does anyone else have a hard time wicking this compared to the original one from peaks?

I've been trying to sign up for an account. When i do and then try to log in in will say that the log in is incorrect. then When I do the forgot password thing, the email I get every time is what I posted. Makes me concerned if there is phishing going on when you go on to or log into the site???? I also have Gmail that catches that stuff in case that makes a difference?

I'm confused. Probably just not knowledgeable. On Flaming Candle's site, they say their wicks are standard or high melt. So does that means it's a standard high melt paraffin (one in the same) or is a standard wax OR high melt paraffin? Is paraffin wax considered a standard high melt? All in the wording and I'm confused and not knowledgeable enough. haha. Thanks!

I was going to order an 8 oz size fragrance to try. $32 3 day usps and $22 fedex. For just that 8 oz. Guess I'll have to cut them out of the list haha

I was on the high end Trudon candles site. When they list how to properly burn their candles they state this? Is this true for all candles?
- To preserve the fragrance, do not burn your candle for more than 2 hours at a time during the first third of the candle and 1 hour at a time during the remaining.
Do you lose the fragrance to an extent if you don't follow these rules? Must be some science behind it. I haven't seen this talked about much. Thanks!

Thank you for the responses. That helps!

Does anyone know which HTP wick would be comparable to a CD2? On a google search I found an old thread that said HTP 31 was comparable to a CD4. Does HTP not go down in size as much as CD's? Thanks!

WSP being so slow is worrisome. I've been planning on re-opening in a new location (Austin). I think it would do really well here. But all the supply issues of late, I'm starting to rethink that as well.

I hope all is well and wish full recovery for you and your family (and all Texans) during snow storm crisis going on over there.
Thank you BusyBee

Belinda. I shall! May be a while. But I will when I do.

Thanks for the info. I'm in Austin, TX. I have State Farm for us personally as well. But haven't checked for my business. Everything is torn up and on hold right now after the snow storm here as we had the busting pipes plumbing issues so many here had. Hands are tied right now to do any candle work/business. I'll look into a referral possibly as you did BusyBee when the time comes.

Tried submitting a question about it on their site but it wouldn't even go through.
