  1. My customers by a straight xmas tree scent- KY's Christmas Past (which I may be switching to ICs soon because it's cheaper and I heard it's just as strong) and I also sell a lot of "A Northwoods Christmas" from BCN which is a cranberry and pine blend. I really like it. My fav. pine blend is from Pier 1 called Cranberry Balsam. I have not been able to find a perfect dupe. NG has it, but it's just not the same.

I think I may do a blend of pine, orange, apples and cinnamon or cloves.

    :)

  2. I use zincs as well. I just compared my zincs from ICS, BCN and KY earlier this evening. I can see a signifigant difference in the ICS ones compared to the BCN & KY. The latter are much thicker to my eye. Maybe some of these companies prime their own wicks and that's what's making the difference? Maybe the ones with more wax are burning hotter.

  3. When we moved into our new house several years ago, we painted out honey cabinets, bright white and also all of the woodwork (baseboards, crown moulding etc.) anyway, I did not make candles at this time, but burned 2 yankee candles daily. I started to wash my new pretty white cabinets one day after living there about 3 months, the water I used turned gray and their were grey streaks all over everything! Even in freezer on the ice bin!

Now check this out, that is what made me want to start making clean burning candles. I thought, what the heck is my 2 year old breathing in? What are we breathing? So started making soy candles. Now, I have been making soy candles for 4 years and the new house we are in now (1 year now) is starting to get the grey streaks on blinds and even the white kitchen television. We had electric heat at the first hosue and gas at this one. What gives?
