  1. Hiya

I havnt tried alot of ACS scents but I love Autumn Harvest, Angelic Whispers, 7 layer carrot cake yum...the DB is nice but you can really smell the dirt(patch) in it. One that I cant stand is Persian Spice bleh bleh bleh yuck!!!!

Welcome to the addiction/forum I envy you being able to go and smell the scents in Perth and pick up orders.

  2. I too am losing patience with them ...and now the discontinue so many fragrances. Never any jars etc etc. I dont know where ACS get there oils from but most of the ones I have tried are good. I dont like there Dragons Blood as much its kinda dirtish.

Thanks Tammy! And yes, I'll share some interludes with you :cheesy2:

    Yay thanks Susan:yay:

You can actually get Libby jars in Australia, however they are very expensive. Are you sitting down? I had a quote on the 10 oz Lucida jars and they worked our at about $4.00 each NOT including lids!!! The lids were almost the same price again, making for a pretty expensive jar! The lead time was also 16 weeks, which is a little crazy.

    OMG :shocked2:

  3. Hi Jonsie

You could try gala imports they are in Adelaide SA. I think they do mostly bulk but its worth a shot. I personally dont use the metro jar because....everyone else does....lol. At least ACS try to keep there stock in....the other have been out of glassware for 6 months....very annoying. Shipping to here is about 5 or 6 days from WA which is kinda annoying.

Can I get some interludes too LOVE those jars...:yay:

  4. Hiya

I had this happen with 464 just recently which is kinda why I have decided to stay with cb 135. I had to light and tip out a little bit of wax a couple of times before I could finally get the darn thing going. I thought it could have been from the FO (violet and lime) but maybe its not.... Its been driving me crazy. I never get this with cb135.

Just a FYI for you Jonsie looks like ncs is getting in wood wicks. Thought you might like to know :)

  5. Wow your not far from me :) I did do relief work on my square pillars so maybe that could be it. Try a cdn 14 I have found that works on mine and I dont use wick pins i wick the mold. Since we cant get the csn wicks here I kinda stick to cdn...or acs wicks but im still trying to work out if i like acs as they seem to soot for me. I have only been making candles since aug 09 so my experience is limited. Im just trying to help. It could be the weather since its freezing atm. Have you tried putting a box over them maybe they are cooling to fast. just a thought. I hope your next ones work out for you

  6. To weigh the FO I use the small votive glasses. I have had candles sweat when it was really hot here (around 40C) last summer and I have also had it on some fo but not others ..weird huh. Make sure you really stir the fo in. I would have saved myself alot of frustration if i had known that I needed to really stir for a couple of minutes not just the fo but the colour too. (that wasnt on the instructions that I got with my kit).

  7. Hi Seen worse .... made worse lol. I find I have no frosting if I use chips. If I use colour blocks I get alot of frosting on my candles, burgandy and purple are the worst. I dont use liquid dye yet I just make candles as a hobby.

I had that sunburnt/peeling look on some of my candles a while ago, not very nice. I was using 415 which I poured slushy at about 38 C I think. I couldnt get them to come back nice no matter what I did. I think it might have been the FO. Who knows...Try playing around with pour temps.

  8. Hi Jonsie

Try the $2 shops or check out Spotlight/Lincraft but they are usually more expensive. Not sure whats in WA but here in NSW we have Sams Warehouse, GoLo etc...places like that always have cheap bubble stuff. I cant buy it for my kids cos when it runs down their arms it flares the eczema

    :)

  9. Hi Jonsie I suggest you have a look at NICNAS site before you hand out anything. soap etc is classed as chemical here. There might be some info on Aussie Soap Supplies site not sure. I think there is some accreditation you need to sell. Maybe some Aussie with more experience will chime in HTH

  10. Hi I have only been playing with Feather palm since Sept last year but I wick that size pillar with CDN 14 or 16 depending on FO. I get awesome ht. The last one I tested was Tuscan Melon and apricot from CS wicked with a CDN 16 and I twist the wick. No blow out. I dont test for only 4 hours sometimes 6 sometimes all day.
