Thanks guys. MMS has some great prices on a lot of things so I may just place an order today

Has anyone used this? I need a good creamy shea for my whipped shea butter..I want something that has no grains and doesn't need to be tempered. The stuff I got from Colombus sucks!
-
what about wickless melts, wickless scents, ???
-
not the kind you clean with either:laugh2:
I am looking for the small feather dusters you use for "adult" body powder. Does anyone know what I mean and where I could possibly find some?

I read the reviews on that base and others say that is is not sticky I am wondering how much water you put in it and how you mix it ?
I added lots of water even wetted my hands after i put the lotion on and still it was very sticky...i m thinking maybe they sent me the wrong base.
I purchased the satin & silk lotion from wsp and I have been using it for three years now my customers love it ...I would like to change to something more natural though
For the cream like consistency I mix 2oz of base with 4oz of water.
I did try it straight out of the jar as a body butter but I found it to be sticky. Once I got the water right, it really is lovely.

I love the soy body butter ( which I call Silky Soy Cream, as it isn't really butter consistency)...It is amazingly silky and smooth and it sells VERY well for me..People now pick that over my own homemade and all natural whipped shea body butter..

I use the boston rounds with a pump top!

CALENDULA!!!! Get you some calendula extract and make you a salve. I have a friend with severe eczema and psorasis and this keeps her skin clear!

I'm hoping to try this with natures garden soy or goats milk natural base!
Get the soy, it is so lovely and a GREAT seller. Everyone loves it!

Why not also true natural cocoa butter. it has that yummy chocolate smell!

Is there a "best" way to store my butter ans oils for making B&B? Would putting them in the fridge slow them from going bad? How do you guys store yours? Also, what about essential oils? A friend of mine is an aromatherapist and she says she keeps hers in the fridge but I had never heard of that before:confused:

I agree except I almost used it as a FO due to poor labeling

I buy Optiphen Plus from lotioncrafters.com and they're very reasonable and do not hike up the shipping.
Yep, me too. I love love love lotioncrafter and use the for a lot of my supplies!

Soy burns much cleaner which is why more people are choosing soy now.

For those of you that use Design Pro by Avery, how do you find it to be easy? I have been practicing with it for months and can't get it. Maybe I am just dumb lol. I can't figure out how make my lip balm labels. Also when using the shipping label temp I need the label turned vertically and can't figure that out either. Also, How to do anything but plain type of labels and when using the fullsheet temp, it makes everything SO small, I can't tell what size it all is until I print it out...grrrrr

Hello all!!
I have been using a recipe of 1/2 C white sugar to 1 oz each avocado and SAO and would like to turn this into an emulsified scrub but not too hard.
Can anyone give me a starting point of percentage / ratio to add E-wax and/or stearic? I tried the recipe from Ellens Essentials which was 21% ewax & 16% stearic and found it WAY TOO waxy.
Also, why do most recipes call for both ewax and stearic?
Thanks for any insight!!
How about try BTMS and cetyl alcohol instead? I like those much better in my emulsified scrubs than I do ewax and stearic.

Red, have you had any problems with adding FOs to their bases or have you had to add salt to thicken it up? I think I may try their samples. I use their hemp lotion base and really like it.
ETA: how's the lather on their bases?
I use the hemp lotion, hemp and aloe body wash and the pearl shower gel. I have never had any problems with them thinning and the shower gel bases have great lather. They are much better than the bases I have tried from NG, WSP and Elements

Do you have a separate space to make your candles/B&B/soap or do you do it in your kitchen? I see so many people get "squicked" out over making things in the kitchen but surely we all didn't start out with a crafting oasis? I know I didn't. Opinions?

I encourage you to make your own EO blends really. Go ahead and make the investment
Thanks Scented. I think I will
I am gonna order some EO's this week and just play with them!
-
I spent a Long time last night searching for something like them. I couldn't find anything that had those little refill cups. I guess thats what you would call them.
I think she just makes the refills the size of the locket so they will fit if someone orders a refill?
-
Well, their EO blends are blended with FO's so I won't be buying them..

I like Aquatech. They even offer sample packages where you get their whole " shower/bath" line of products as a sample for $10!!

Lord I'd love a program like that! We have everything entered, but still, something that would be ultra cool is if it would pull from one's inventory and calculate the cost since some FOs and ingredients can vary greatly.
Check out the link I posted, it is a excel download that will do all the above.

is awful. I mean, I am not a patch expert but this stuff smells like pure DIRT. Anyone else experience this? The sandlewood isn't great either, smells kinda like dirt mixed with chemicals:mad:. They are both the EO's too!

For anyone that uses this program, I have a question. Suppose you only want to print on say, 5 labels on a whole sheet. Is that possible?
