  1. ok, finally got some more $$ and got my cd wicks....double wicked my 16 oz jar with cd 14s as helpfully suggested! the throw is fantastic!! the collar of my jar is a little toasty tho....and will I be looking for the same basic results with the double wick as single (i,e, fmp with in so long, etc)???

I hope these work, or I may literally go crazy...:P

  2. thanks stella....I guess I just have tons more to learn!!! my brain is gonna explode...I would love to find one wick that would wick these nicely...my eco 8 almost does....but not all the way to the edges after my power burn....

so, have got it quite figured yet....thanks for the info about lonestar, I will check there

  3. Hi there...been pouring and testing 6006 in 16 oz apothecary jars (by request) thru a wick recommender...I am using eco 8s....1 oz scent, wax heated to 195, color added...fragrace added...stirred 3 minutes....cooled to 150....tops were a little sunk...heat gun fixed..

Test burns no smoking or soot, but a dancin flame! LOL...ct and ht great! Should I be concerned about the flickering...and why would it flicker?

Also, what is the best way to pour without sinking tops?? should I pour cooler...warm jars...or just plan to re-pour?? sorry I tried to find these answers but I just get more confused!

  4. thanks leah! I actually poured a little left over wax into some little plastic containers.....it is cb advanced, but I am interested to see what it does!!

thanks for taking the time to tell me what works for you!

  5. ok, now soy tarts are on my list of things I would like to make.

I have heard that a lot of people like the ky tart/votive blend....

I would love to hear more about it.....successes and challenges (if any)

and I would love to know about those who love ecosoya pb.

    you guys are awesome!!

    thanks so much,

    mindy

  6. ok,

re-lit the candle I had previously burned too early :embarasse Good News!! the burn pool, or melt pool was perfect!! wick re-lit and burned beautiful.

Put the candle in the bathroom, (smallest room in the house) my son said he could smell a little something....so maybe if I wait longer and test burn again, the scent will be better, or perhaps just not a strong scent.

Thanks again for all the help

    mindy:wink2:

  7. thank you stella,

I did measure each item, by weighing, but I didn't fill my jars up all the way, so perhaps they are not quite 4oz....? who knows.

I haven't tried any others, but I am glad to know that you wait a week. I guess now I need to wait and test the ones I have already poured.

thank you so much for taking the time to give me all your helpful hints and pointers, you guys are awesome!!

c-3 you say?? I will go check it out!

    thanks again,

    mindy:yay:

  8. thanks jess,

I truly love it so I will try and work it out! as for the oils I got them from bittercreek, same spot I got the wax....I think candlescience is closer to me, but I had done business with bc before.

the cold throw is ok so far, I need to test burn one maybe tomorrow so that I have an idea if the hot throw improves with curing....waiting is soo hard for me!!:meditate:

I don't know if I should pour anymore, until I have the chance to burn one...

    hmmm??

thanks to you all for the help!!

  9. Hi everyone,

after years of wanting to I finally bought some wax and started pouring candles.

went with soy, cb advanced.....and this is where the questions start.....I don't think I did enough homework and I burned one candle after like 15 hours and got no hot throw...my wick may be a tad large for my candle, (meltpool was a little bigger, faster) but I am afraid that I have made a huge mistake buying 10lbs of this wax. Scent is more important than looks for me.

so do I cure them and hope for the best or do I scrap this wax and get some other soy???

I used 1 oz per pound of fragrance oil and and eco 8 wick (which burns really nice!)

and I heat mix and pour to eco soy's directions....155 dye, then 125 oil stir till I see no more swirlies, and pour afterwards, into 4 oz jelly jars (dia-approx 2.5)

    HELP!

    mindy
