  1. Ecos & Htps seem to do the best so far. Love the Cds, but always seem to have teeny redhot little embers at the tip of wick. 2 Eco1s in 125 in a 15 oz cylindar from Lonestar that is on its 10th burn & doing very well. Mix-up with TCS, invoice for shipping wouldn't go thru. Scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Jeanie says doing very well, great HT so far. Maybe she'll start a new thread about TCS wax.

Many thanks. I've been testing J50 and J223 off and on for a while when I have the funds and the time. I can't get a full melt pool in a 3" wide tumbler and the HT isn't that great. I've only tried zincs and LX's so far. I'm going to try a few more wicks before I give up on it. I may give CBL125 ot TCS a try if all else keeps failing.

  2. Hi there,

I have this posted in the classifed section as well. Really hoping someone can help.

I was wondering if anyone had a couple of pounds of Just Scent's 50/50 pillar-votive wax that they would be willing to spare. I contacted Becky at Just Scent and she said they no longer offer sample sizes. Bummer, I would love to try it, but I don't think I want to buy 50 lbs. to do so. If anyone is willing to help, I can pay through Paypal.

    Please and thank you,

    Lisa

  3. Bed Bath & Beyond carries Yankee candles. Yankee has Autumn Leaves, Autumn Wreath, and Autumn Fruit, but no Autumn Apple. Maybe she meant Bath and Body Works. They have one called Autumn Apple by Slatkin & Co.

General Wax as a fragrance oil called Autumn Apple. It doesn't say if it's a "type" or not. Might be worth checking out.

  4. I have zinc wicks from both Peaks and Lonestar, and they are definitely not the same. Okay, the same in nature, but they don't perfom the same. I liked the zincs from CS too. When they stopped carrying them, I tried others, but wasn't completely satisfied. Now I'm trying ECO's. I like the way they burn so far, but I don't think my HT is as good. I may have to try C&S zincs if these fall through. Thanks for the info.

  5. Hi,

I actually went with IGI 1230 Straight Paraffin, not sure why, and now wish I hadn't. This stuff is rock hard! Not very attractive either. Almost translucent. I added about 1/4 teaspoon of vybar to a pound of wax. Heated it to 190 degrees, added 6% FO, cooled and poured. Okay, it has awesome CT and awesome HT if using it in a tealight tart warmer. Bad news, I couldn't get the tart to melt in my 15wt. plug-in. I'll still use it for tealight warmers. It's not easy to work with, kind of ugly (I didn't color them), and didn't work in what I had wanted it to. So onto something else. Maybe I'll try adding a little J50 to some. If you try the 4794 with 415 for clamshells, let me know how it does. I will probably try it next, but I have 9 pounds of this stuff to use up first.

I just don't get it. Scentsy can makes a wax that melts in one of these warmers, and I can't figure it out. That's what started this whole thing. I bought a Scentsy warmer and loved it. Then found something like them from BCN. Thought, hey I can make my own, cool. Not so much.

I really don't know what direction to take now.

  6. I have some plug -in wamers that take a 15wt. light bulb from Bittercreek. I haven't made tarts yet, and I am wondering if IGI 4794 Votive wax will work in these. I use J50 for containers, but I think it is too soft for tarts/melts. I was considering trying IGI 4794 for my tarts. These little warmers get pretty warm, but not sure if they are warm enough to melt 4794 and produce a decent throw. Does anyone use these? If so, which wax do you think works best in them.

    Many thanks,

    Lisa
