for cphp can you pour in long mold, and cut it or does it have to be ind. molds like in the turtorial?

i found this recipe for a small batch..

5 oz coconut oil

13 oz olive oil

6 oz palm oil

9 oz water

3.3 oz lye

could i use 6 oz of cocoa butter instead of palm? also i hve a scale that measures in oz but with fractions,, ex. instead of 3.5 its shows 3 1/2 on the scale, what would 3.3 be... 31/4?? one more question.. could i do the cphp method with this?

is cphp easier if time is an issue? i hve lots of little ones around i thought this may be a slower process? i am aware of saftey concerns and am going to wait till nap time, but it seems it may not be as stressful?

I want to try making a batch of soap.. i do nothave many hard oils. i want to make an all veg. soap, most recipes have po or pko in them, can i get these locally?

i want to place an order to try some recipes i found and i have some questions..

-cocoa butter- deorderized, regular , or white

-grapeseed oil or grapeseed exract are they same or diff,

-beeswax- pearls, white, or yellow

-palm kernal, or palm oil same or different

-best way to color b&b , what is considered natural?

-preservatives, any particular

-alomond oil.. some sites say cosmetic grade which seems cheeper , is there a diff.

-coconut oil-fractionated, 76%,????which one does make a diff

-eo, fo--when a recipe calls for 8 drops of eo, do you sub for 8 drops of fo or more?

-some companies advertise eos and seem much cheeper than others, one says 100% eo does this mean that some eos are diluted.

i want to try cp. i like the control with cp, i can do many different things..

i hve been reading and reading and reading... i printed out a lot of things to take on the go with me. after i learn a little more i will take the plunge. The first thing i will try is an acne soap for my teen. i need to order a few things, found some locally. the math thing is really going to complicate things for me. but i like a good challenge. one thing thats a bummer... do you really have to let cure 4 WEEKS... :shocked2: really??

I have really been praying for patience in my life, its funny how things work..in the mean time i am trying a few bath salt recipe, and maybe will try to tackle bunnys bath melts one day. I never thought i would come over to this side!!

is there a market for soaps? before i ventured to this part of the board, soaps didnt intrique me, but the more i read the more interesting it is becoming. do people actually prefer homemade soaps/ what are the differences and benefits? you can tell i have no idea.. i know it has something to do with chemicals? sorry for the stupidity...
