Ive been experimenting with color and thus far have been unsuccessful in acheiving a true black. I've tried the color chips and that didn't get the results I expected. So I switched to the liquid dye and I can get a true black but then it stinks like dye. No fancy wax recipe just 1 pound 1343 a teaspoon of releasant powder. the recomended dose of peaks uv inhibitor and FO, thats it. Please help.
Thanks,
Tracey

Pourette makes molds so if you can't find what your looking for give them a try, they do a great job on custom molds.

If you wait until your candle is cool then chances are you've waited to long to re-pour and just as well start over. Your re-pour should be done while your candle is still warm to avoid the oh so attractive jump lines, and should be poured 10 degrees hotter than your original pour. If your candle has already cooled your re-pour will seep down the sides of your candle where it has pulled away from your mold.

Depends on your desired result. Soy, Paraffin, Beeswax, or maybe a preblended wax may be best suited for you if you don't have much experience with additives.

Autum Orange and a sliver of Saturn Yellow.

tarts are a small wickless candle you would use in a tart burner/warmer. i use soy wax w/ a little beeswax but i think any votive pillar wax will work
Thank you. Are they intended for fragrance throw only?

I've been getting alot of requests lately for tarts but I haven't a clue where to begin. What wax is best for these and what kind of device to use for testing? Any advice?
Thanks

Gosh there are so many. I'd have to say Rose, Lilac, Lavendar, anything that smells like old people or an old ladys bathroom! Can't stand french vanilla either, my ex roommate had a can of spray he kept in our only bathroom and well...*faint* I walked in just as he walked out and I'm lucky enough to still be alive to write about it.

Have you concidered logging on to the Avery.com website for their templates that go with their lables? They worked for me(knock on wood). Good luck to you.

I too have that mold along with the yin yang, I really like the way they look however, I haven't had any luck wicking them to burn correctly as two seperate candles.
Yours look great.

OMG ... LMAO Wick Dipper that is the cutest thing I've ever heard!! I've been called many things over the years but Wick Dipper tops them all!!

Trish,
I never would have thought to mention the slight variations in color and what not due to the hand pouring process. Thank you!

With minimum order do you have a dollar or case amount? I have seen it done both ways. Ginger
Hi Ginger,
Yes I've set my minimum order at $250.00 sounds like alot however, 250.00 wholesale price will allow the shop owner to carry several of my product lines which equals more premium shelf space (higher visibility) and allows customers to become familiar with my products and company. It's a win win situation.
Okay now that I have convinced myself delivering this to a store owner is a different story. I'm actually feeling much more confident about getting out there and getting it done, thanks to all of you that have added to this thread. You really do make a difference.

Tracey - when I first put mine together I was so nervous it literally took me months! I got some help from another person and she practically held my hand the whole way through. As payment to her, she told me that I was to "pay it forward", so...if you would like to see mine to give you an idea, please email me at KristinesShower@aol.com and I will send it over to you.
Then it will be your turn to "pay it forward"
Kristine, Thank you! I so need someone to hold my hand.

Not sure why I am so nervous and freaked out about this but I am and I certian that I will forget something and that's why I'm asking for your help.
I'm going out today to get some wholesale accounts and I am not exactly sure as to what I will need to bring with me. I've heard some people talk about a wholesale packet but what does this packet consist of ? This is what I have so far. If I am missing anything please let me know.
A.) Wholesale price sheet with minimum order requirements
B.) Product samples
C.) Scent list
D.) Order Form
Any suggetstions will be greatly appriciated!!!!
Thank you. Tracey

You might try craftlister.com or eventlister.com;)You mean like craft shows? I am kind of afraid to get into those because of the cost and the amount of candlemakers already there. If you are meaning something else, please let me know. Maybe you mean church bazaars or school flea markets?? I have not gotten into these. I know this might sound like a stupid question, but how would I find out about these?I've tried to hold open houses at my own home and posted at local grocery stores and put signs out, etc. but had little success.

I would pay $6 or $7 bucks for a single and expect to pay at least $15 for the trio.
Good luck!

If you can get the jars locally and have ample time for testing I would do my best to accommodate her needs. It can't be all that time consuming, considering they are centerpieces which don't generally require FO. Who knows what may come out of it. Good Luck!!
