  1. I made out a police report here and the policeman said he would call the guy and tell him if he ever called again he would be arrested.
  2. Does anyone know where I can buy votive molds that are 2" square. They must make them, because I've seen the votives for sale. Diane
  3. Last night I received a call from a man named James C. Schwartz from Philadelphia. He said he was a consumer advocate. He stated that he had purchased three large candles from a local mall that had been made by my company and the total cost was close to $100.00. He got very pushy and said he had burned the three candles next to each other on a charger plate. About half way down the candles started leaking to the side and ruined his charger plate and damaging a table. One of his favorite sayings was "YOU DON'T KNOW WHO I AM". There is a law firm in philadelphia named James & Schwartz. The store that sells my candles does not have a store in the mall anymore. (Its been about a year), but their phone number still shows the mall. It turns out, he called the store, got hold of the owners 12 year old daughter and asked her who made the candles, sizes, scents and cost. He was so rude to her she ended up crying. He was requesting the return of his $100.00 in the form of a postal money order and new candles. Just wanted to put the story out there in case anyone else gets a call.
  4. How far ahead can you make glycerin melt and pour? Also, how should it be stored? Also, bath fizzes. Diane Lewis
  5. With 30,000 people attending, how much merchandise would be appropriate? This site ROCKS
  6. How lucky am I? I just received confirmation that I have a booth at the peach festival in our area. Last year they had over 30,000 people attend. My question is, what kind of supply do I need to have. I have a lot of 8oz container candles and am showing several others. I have a great artichoke, along with apples and numerous others. Any help would be much appreciated. I just love this place.
  7. So how long does it stay in the freezer? I just love this site!!!!!!
  8. This recipe is made with goats milk. Should it be put in the refrigerator or freezer? Thanks, this is all so new.
  9. Why would a recipe say not to cover or insulate? Thanks
  10. Can someone explain what gelling is?
  11. I've been reading all the soap recipes on line and watching the videos on how to make soap. I'm a bit confused about the measuring. When the work ounces is used are they talking about weight or volume? Thanks for any help:yay:
  12. Has anyone used palm wax for pillars or in molds and had to do a second pour? I poured a mold which I've been using for several months. Everything looked fine, except of coure I dropped the candle and the bottom broke off. It was so odd. The bottom of the candle looked solid, but there was an empty cavity when it broke off. Should I be doing second pours or what? Thanks
  13. Thanks so much for the good advice. As my husband says, "Get out of her way." I do have insurance and have burned all my candles for testing. I've given quite a few to friends for advice. I owned an Insurance AGency before I retired and have fairly good business sense but certainly can use any advice. Thanks so much
  14. I was surfing yesterday and found the website www.moldman.com.
  15. I love Craftserver!! Where is the best place to go to find listings of craftfairs, etc? I've looked at several websites, but don't want to join unless it's of any quality. Also, when selling pillar candles, is there anyother labeling that should go on it besides the warning label and scent? And one last question. Is it worth investing in having a professional do the graphics for your company? Thanks so much, you guys are the best.
