  1. I just went in and did some mock orders to see what would happen. I looked at my order history and did two different orders that had the exact same products in the cart.

Both times the new way of shipping saved me money (yes, I was totally shocked!). The first time it was a savings of $3 and the second time it was a $7 savings. These were also around $300 orders too.

That being said, I am only 1 state away from them so it may not be your experience. I'd suggest people go and try it, just look at your order history and load up your cart.

Edited to add that I just went and did a smaller $64 dollar order and it charged me $9 MORE. That's farked up. So it looks like the more expensive orders may save you money but the smaller ones are really kicking you in the arse!

  2. We use Lilac from NG....was told from our wholesale vendor (who purchased several lilac soaps from multiple sellers) that ours was the truest lilac she had ever smelled.

I thought it smelled good too....UNTIL I smelled it right next to WSP's. WSP's wins hands down!

  3. This board could/would have been a huge help to you if you would have just used the 'search' feature.

There are multiple threads regarding Mr. Missy's and his business practices. The ones that cracked me up were the people who stated that they weren't burned by him and would continue to do business with him because he had such good deals on oils. Russian roulette.

I'm sorry you had issues. If you paid via PayPal, file a dispute. If you paid via credit card, contact your credit card company and dispute the charges.

  4. Ohhh just do it! You have nothing to lose but $450 plus some costs-worst case. In the big scheme of things is $450 going to ruin your life if you lose it?? But the possibilities for gains?? HUGE Plus it's a great time of year to get in a show.

Heck the back and forth with myself would be enough to drive me to do it....just so I could stop "back and forthing" lol At least you will know one way or the other.

  5. I find the one from WSP to have no smell and never be grainy, I love it, but it is more expensive.

??? When I figure out the pricing, even at the smallest amounts WSP comes up cheaper per pound:

Chemistry Store $22.25 for 5 pounds=$4.45 per pound

    WSP $29.95 for 8 pounds=$3.74 per pound

If you figure out a larger size:

Chemistry Store $90.50 for 25 pounds=$3.62 per pound

    WSP $104.00 for 32 pounds=$3.25 per pound

  6. You guys seriously rock!

I appreciate ALL of the input you are throwing at me, I really do.

I haven't heard back from the leasing agent regarding sales figures so I am leaning towards NOT doing this. I can not make a decision with crucial information missing. It would literally be shooting in the dark.

I'll update you if anything changes.

Did you miss type in here?

No $8,500 a month for a 70sf cart (the kiosk rates are MORE).

This would be really labor intensive and I couldn't do it alone. I would need to hire.

Ladies thanks for your input. It's just really hard to make a decision without knowing sales numbers. I just contacted the leasing agent and hopefully she will come through with some information in the next few days.

  8. I would consider doing more of a Kiosk instead of a 1400 sq. foot space.

If you have never been in retail

I've been in retail. I have managed some type of store most of my working life.

I KNOW it would be incredibly hard but I keep thinking that I just don't want to be 60 years old and thinking; "What if....????"

Those are the two months of the year that ALL retailers look forward to. They bring those retailers "in the black". And MY idea of a "good month" and a big corporations idea of a good month, I'm sure, are MILES apart.

Crap, crap, crap....what to do? lol

  9. Uhhhhh, you mean you need information to help me make a decision???!!?! I....AM....SUCH.....A.....DORK! lol

I do B&B only. I have a totally new "concept" for a store though. To keep it simple it would be "made to order" products.

I just don't have any clue on sales.

  10. I have an opportunity to rent a space (1,400sf) in a mall for just November & December. Here is some mall info:

The average annual household income in the area topped $95,000 in 2008, with 22% of households earning more than $100,000. The majority of these high-income households are concentrated within a five-mile radius of the mall, where the average annual household income is just under $100,000.

    Major stores:

JCPenney, Macy’s, Sears, Dick’s Sporting Goods

    Specialty Retail, Restaurants, and Entertainment:

Aéropostale, ALDO, American Eagle Outfi tters, Ann Taylor Loft, Bandolino, Charlotte Russe, dELiA*s, Express, Finish Line, Forever 21, G by Guess, Gap, GapKids, H&M, Hollister Co., Journeys, Journeys Kidz, Lids, Motherhood Maternity, Origins, PacSun, Sunglass Hut, The Body Shop, Torrid, Victoria’s Secret, Yankee Candle, Zales Jewelers, Zumiez

I would be taking over space so all store fixtures are included. I just have to stock up and move in....that's it. The cost is $5,000 per month for the two months with option to continue renting and stay there for the rest of the year.

I'm waiting on some sales figures, because honestly, I have NO clue on what I could/should make in sales..... but I was wondering if YOU would do this?? If yes....could you please tell me why?

  11. I don't make large batches of any one scent. I make "made to order" scented products so I only need a few ML's to scent, not ounces.

I hate throwing away a dropper after one use so I needed a way to re-use them without gunking up the bottle. Now the dropper just sits inside the test tube, no gunk
