  1. I'm finding that it just takes time and ALOT of patience. We did anything and everything to get out products known. When my hubby was laid off for 2 years, and our buisness was the only means of supporting a family of 5...we went vending crazy. We hit the road and traveled in our rv everywhere.....went to Pow-wows, craft shows, festivals and markets. We just made ends meet by doing that. Alot of wrork, but at least it put food on the table and gas in our truck. We did get some wholesale orders by doing that, and people actually visiting our web site. Word of mouth does wonders. I was atcutally thinking about sending my product to Oprah.
  2. Have you ever hear of the Oregon Soap company??? They have been around A LoOoooOoong time.
  3. Hiya Mike... welcome again to the board. Byt he way..have you done any vending at the Sat. Market in Portland??
  4. Please start something...I don't mind.As for the claims on my products...the only claims I have are from the herbs themselves. Example...in my joint and muscle rub, it states..."All of the herbs in this rub are known to be effective anti-inflammatory herbs." That is true. No, they are not lab tested, but arnica, comfry and yucca are known for helping those with arthritis. I also know the FDA can really destroy a buisness who claims that they can heal..so I try to be careful and say "relief"..and not actually "heal". I would LOVE to get certified and have everything tested, BUT ...I'm not that big and the price for that is really costly. I wanted to get a certified label for being organic, since I use ALL organic materials and herbs for my products..but it's about 1000.00 +a year. Whew. lets dream on for a season. If you find any wording that may sound like a liabilty, please let me know so I can change it. Any questions, critiques are welcome. yeah...No avatar...big bummer.
  5. Thanks everyone for the welcomes.
  6. Hi...Thanks for the welcome. I take it your in Portland??
  7. Thanks for the welcome....I guess It didn't take me very long to get in trouble. Nope..I tried to put up a avatar and add some things to my profile.... BUT....when I try, it says.... "Organic Ema, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system? Anyway...my web site is http://healingtree.us/ We are actually in the process of changing some things around. My labels are going to slightly change and I'm going to be adding some different hemp products. Alot of people ask..."Why hemp products"? It usually gets a bad wrap for being part of the cannibis family, but hemp is very benificial for alot of things....especially skin.
  8. thanks...I will keep that in mind. Whew..I have a LoOooOong way to go.
  9. Question time...wondering why I can't edit my profile or even put up a profile picture? I can't even post this post in a general question area. Do I need to have so many posts before I can post or edit???? That's kind of odd. Maybe my account is having problems?? Help.
  10. Hi, Not sure If this is where I can post this, but I'm wondering where I can get a Cinnamon roll candle that smells like the real thing. My mom bought me a cinnamon roll candle a few years ago and it was the best candle I ever had. Unfortunatly, my mom can't remember where she got it from. It smelled SOoOooo good and lasted forever. I'm just looking for one again. thanks:)
  11. It sounds like a lot, but it's just the traveling that can get old at times.I'm also waiting for my children to get older so they can help out...right now they are just too young..except for my 15 year old son...but he's not into making"girly" products...only the girls. Haa Not sure If I can share my web site here??? Don't want to get in trouble in my first few days here.:smiley2:
  12. Hi, I'm a newbie here. I've already posted on some topics and didn't even think about introducing myself. I guess that's waht happens when you have 3 kids..you start loosing your own marbles too.Ha Anyway...I'm a wife, mother of 3, artist and herbalist. We live in Oregon..I homeschool and we have our own "small" skincare buisnsness. I've been making my own massage healing salves and organic lotions for about 2 years now. I infuse my own oils with organic herbs to gain the healing properties from them. I'm thinking about getting into making my own lotion bars next..or maybe healing lip balms. I've tried lip balms, but it didn't work out so great. The beeswax eventually seperated and made my lip balms hard on the lips. Maybe need a different recipe??? Anwyay...We travel ALOT..going to different events to vend our products. We've been to many Pow-wow's, Festivals and different markets all over the West coast. I'm thinking I need to take a break and focus on wholesales??? It's great traveling around to meet so many wonderful people, but... it can get a bit tiring too. Hope to gain some insights and ideas here, plus making new friends.
  13. Thnks, I will check them out today.
