I guess that would be better than losing it. It was a test for personal use anyway, and this way dh stays clean. :tiptoe:
Thanks!

I'd try that except I can't chop it.. it's liquid with the butters and oils floating at the top... I think I might just call it a loss and toss it. This should teach me to try a recipe without ALL the ingredients.
And when it didn't thicken up before I did add more base.. didn't work.

I think I messed up big time. I used everything PA listed but have no stearic acid.. thought I'd be fine without it but it's now all just separating. Any thoughts?

It's new and on its way to my house! I am friends on Facebook and they had an awesome offer of a 10 pack with most of the new ones in it. Should be here Monday! :yay:

Has anyone used this as sort of a multi-purpose base? I'm looking at the ingredients for this and for lip balms and they seem similar. So can I use this to make bars and balms?
Thanks!

I have all my Fos in the 16oz amber bottles and I spilled all the time. So I bought the large flip top caps from Peak. Takes me a little longer to get my oils out, but I don't spill/waste any now.

Those are so cute!

my first run through a soap calc that I feel safe sharing to ask.. is this a good blend? I'm trying to decide what I need to order to do CP for the first time but keeping it simple.
Coconut Oil 25%
Rice Bran Oil 10%
Mango Seed Butter 5%
Olive Oil 40%
Palm Oil 20%
Hardness 42
Cleansing 17
Conditioning 54
Bubbly 17
Creamy 25
Iodine 60
INS 150
I've read the tutorials and the post with the advice about lauric/oleic/palitic ratios and I just want to make sure I have a handle on this.
Thanks!

Luminous- I don't think it's you particularly. I have State Farm for car and renters, but when I asked about it for B&B and candles they told me they don't cover that kind of thing. Frustrating cause I'd rather deal with a company I know, but whacha gonna do!

Ah crap... that means I'm one too. I'm over here trying to narrow down what scents I'm going to launch with and doing nothing but discovering more that I want. I have a cabinet (short thank God) of big bottles but 1 ouncers all over the place! :embarasse

A while back she had a warehouse mishap and was out of a lot of stock for a while, maybe it's just not in stock yet? I'd email and ask.

I can't stand florals but ordered both the rose and golden rose for my mom from CS and she (who loves flowers!) prefers the rose to the golden. just my 2 cents

Thanks, no unfortunately it's not CP, it's MP. I'm still a chicken when it comes to lye. :tiptoe:

Thanks CareBear, I didn't know that. You probably just saved me a waste of time and ingredients!

Thanks, I put mine in the freezer for 20 minutes and then let them sit on the counter until they were room temp 30-40 minutes and they popped right out.

I wound up making several things today with several different scents and boy do I have a headache! But I think it was worth it.
In the picture are a coffee scrub, brown sugar scrub, flowering soap, coffee soap and shaving cream. (I really am struggling with the coffee soap, the grounds either float or sink... )

Ok, so hubby just took his first bath with one of these. It fizzed like it was supposed to, but not enough so I think a little more citric acid might be needed. And it did leave a brown ring around the tub but it wipes right off.... I'm thinking maybe I used a little too much color to start so I'll back off the next time I make these and see if that makes a difference.

Bumping up again as the newsletter I just got in my mailbox says that caramel dip is one of the three scents that they have on sale for 10% off this week.
-
Ok, so I finally found where I got the recipe for these.. it was over at thedishforum.com. I don't know if I can repost the recipe here but they are Wintergreen's Tub Truffles.
-
Thanks for the great response!
Rae- nope he hasn't tried them yet, I'm anxiously awaiting his next bath.
Blest- I used a recipe that I think I could in the archives of this forums old forum (but I'll have to verify that). If I can find the source, I'll post it here and let you know. They were super easy!
I was thinking when I make them for selling I'll pour some colored melt and pour soap or colored cocoa butter into the swirl at the top before I pour in the rest of the truffle so there will be some color coordination with the scent.

I just read in the Elements newsletter that FOH Caramel Dip just came in stock among the FOH oils. I don't see it on the website yet, but I'm sure it will be along soon. Hope this makes your day!

Wow, sorry that you had bad ordering experiences with sks. My orders have never taken more than a week to get to me.

I've ordered bottles from sks bottle with great results. Let me know if you need the website.

Ok, no idea where my brain is but will someone give it back? I have no idea how I got stearic acid on my list for PA's recipe. What I had, I dumped out of the molds and put in a glass measuring cup and left on the counter because I was so frustrated! Good grief I should have been more patient because now it's all set up! I'm going to try melting it one more time, pouring and walking away! :tiptoe:
Next time I do so many silly things someone come up here and smack me.
