    TriState oils?

    Well I hope you are happy, I just placed a $65 order with them, I haven't used any of their fo's and I sell a fair amt. of creme brule so I thought I would try theirs, hee hee. NOt like I have to be forced to buy any fo's.

    I've only tried their Creme Brulee, but, it's one of the strongest, best throwing oils (not to mention the single best Creme Brulee I've ever smelled), ever. I would definately put them in wax.

    If we are talking candles I try to have a few in each catagory for my food type scents carrot cake flickersfragrace oils is a great seller, lemon pound cake & orange chiffon cake from KY are great sellers from me, cinnamon vanilla, flickers again,

    florals is lilac - by far my best seller in florals - Lezlee simple soothings, Olive blossom - flickers, Hyacinth flickers, then I sell alot of patch and patchouli honey, Spicy lime, eucalyptus mist and straight up eucalyptus, lemongrass, Cedar and spice, etc. During the holidays I sold tons of apple jack, pomegranate, mullberry etc. Creme brule sells good for me all yr. long and so does hazelnut latte, etc. I don't have alot of fruity scents and that is something I have to work on cause I tend to like more of the spicy earthy blends.

    Bath Bombs Didn't Fizz

    I always do a couple small random bombs from each batch and after they harden up I fill my kitchen sink up and pop one in there and test for fizzyness . I know if they have too many oils in them they don't fizz a whole lot but they feel great. I also had a batch that I didn' t have the citric and the baking soda mixed up thoroughly and parts fizzed and parts didn't . Now I always grind my citric up and make sure I mix really really good. If you have any left just market them as bath candies or something and don't market them as fizzies.

    you could e-mail her a gift certificate or mail her recipient a gift certificate to use on-line I guess would be the only resolution that would get there before Christmas. I would like a gift certificate to an on-line store and would never know that the originator has intended on giving me another gift. Just a thought.

    I have terrible cs skills, I am the first to admit it and I need help. Does that make me a bad business person? I don't think so at all!

    Asking for help doesn't make anyone a bad person, and I think that it is a learning process and it doesn't come overnight. I work for a very large organization and customer service is key and it can be a learned skill. We have a very intense training program that everyone goes through at every level and then we have ways to measure that. Since it is one of your goals for 2007 maybe you could come up with some type of customer feedback program that would go directly to you so it doesn't have to be a public thing and it could address a number of points (it is also a good way to keep track of what your key employees are doing or not doing) and give them some sort of incentive for filling it out, a discount on their order an extra complimentary product etc. etc and do this for a pre-determined time. You will have to make a concerted effort to really take the points as feedback and not get personal, it can't ever get personal, and learn from it. If you have someone good at this kinda thing ask them for help. When we have a customer complaint that is potentially serious at work we brainstorm it between the mgrs. because we want / need to keep the customer. Also, not to pick on you but you stated that you had people to deal with the customer, but it truly has to come from the leader, the leader HAS to exemplify the companies standards and expectations they truly do so this is your responsibility first and foremost.     I think it is just as others have stated it is alot of common sense and looking at the long haul and not the short immediate option. Building customer loyalty and great customer service means standing behind your product, your comminttments, and just plain doing the right thing. It means if you quote a customer or client or garage sale person for that matter a price you honor it even if you loose, if they have a problem you solve it and don't give a bunch of excuses or make the customer do the work, we have to do it for them. It's like going out to dinner when you spend your hard earned $$ you want someone to wait on you and serve you, it makes you feel important and you want to tip them, thats how our business is as well, many of our products are not necessity products but products that should make a customer feel good about themselves. I have seen some of my best and most loyal customers come from mistakes and how I have handled them, I try to go over and above but others just don't, those kinda people don't ever get my business again either on thier site, thru recommendations or even buying garage sale items.

    Orange Spice w/ cloves

    Does anyone know of an orange spice with maybe a hint of clove in it for soy candles I have a customer request for this and would like to accommodate her as she is a very good customer, any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

    The honey patch is outstanding, brown sugar & fig, Sahara is also nice, her carrot cake is really really nice and so is her apple jack 'n peel. There really hasn't been one I have been disappointed in at all. I think you'll be happy with any of the choices you make.

    I agree it is usually the fo that makes soap thick like mashed potatoes or too many solid oils. Maybe post your recipe with the fo you used. Did you discount the water perhaps. It could be a number of things. If you can just bring your soap to trace and pour in molds while it is still pourable then place in the oven.

    Try to find a chemical supply house near you. I get mine at a chemical supply house my citric as well. You have to buy 50 lbs. but its about .79 cents a lb. and no shipping so even if you had to split it with someone it is so much cheaper. It is called caustic soda. There should be someone in your area that can help you find a chemical supply house near you.

    Underwhelmed by Misty Creek mold

    I don't have one of their molds but I do have one that is kinda similar. I unmold my soap, remove the log and kinda let it air dry for awhile, then place it back into the device without paper to cut, I don't know if that will work for your purposes or not since I don't have one of their molds, maybe someone else can chime in. I know what it is like to be frustrated especially after long trying days at work, I'm just about frazzled from my job, and I'm sick on top of it.

    Adding a dab of bentonite clay and some carrot juice adds a wonderful slick glide to your soap. I add about 50% water, 50% carrot juice for my ladies shaving soap and more like 75% water, 25% carrot to my mens shaving soap. I also make a facial moisturizing soap with carrot juice and raw honey it is really silky.

    I am by no means an authority on liquid soap but here are a couple sites that really helped me. I use the Ellens Essentials recipe and site and my soap is very very nice.
