  1. How well do the ziplocks work as far as keeping them fresh?

    Kelly

They work great!! I have some from a few months ago that I took out of my craft booth (discontinued scents), and they still smell like the day I packaged them up. :)

  2. I take it these are like the Aroma Beads sold at BC?? If so, I read on that board about someone having the same problem, and it turned out being because their hole they had made for the string was too big or too close to the edge.

  3. does any one solely sell Yankee fragranced candles?

How well do you do? Do we have to rename them, or since our suppliers sell the FO with the yankee name, is it ok to call our candles that?

I believe you have to call your candles 'such and such type' or rename the scents.

    For example:

Harvest - you could call it Harvest TYPE, or Harvest TIME, but legally you can't call it just HARVEST because it is trademarked by Yankee. :)

  4. I noticed the cinnamon increase too, so I questioned it on the BC board, and here is the response I recieved:

"The Cinnamon Red Hot was a typo. It is $16.95 unless you do the buy 5 get $1.00 off then it's $15.95."

    Then Doneen stated:

"Just to clarify even further, we first thought that we'd only have to raise the ones with patchouli in them, as that was the ingredient with the biggest price hike. But since then we've had several price increases across the board with most of our manufacturers, which unfortunately affects the majority of our fragrances. So we have had to start adjusting more of the FO prices accordingly. We've absorbed many smaller price increases over the years, but lately they are getting too high for us to be able to absorb, so we regret that we have to raise some of our prices to offset this. We've incurred some price increases on other products too (wax of course), but also some of our Bath & Body Bases, Aroma Beads, MP Soaps, and various other products. Some of these we've been able to absorb, but again some will have to be adjusted. And of course as you know, the increasing cost of shipping & trucking has greatly affected prices as well. We realize price increases are no fun, and we hate having to do it, but we have no choice frown.gif But we can promise that we're still working to try and keep our pricing as reasonable as possible and find you the best deals, and we will keep working toward that goal as always. We really do value all of our loyal customers and we appreciate your understanding"

  5. Try adding in increments of 1 tsp per lb. And smell. If you want stronger fragrance add another tsp. Add up to 1 tbs (3 tsp) per lb of soap base. You can add more but I find more than that makes my skin break out. Normally I use either 2 tsp or 1 tbs per lb. Depends on the strength of the fragrance.

For example, lavender is strong so I use 1-2 tsp. Vanilla or citrus oils are light so I add up to 1 tbs per lb.

Edited to add: For essential oils you want to start out using about 1/3 or 1/2 as much.

I use 1 oz pp for most scents. Some I need 1.5 oz. though :)

  6. yes, a traffic circle would be similar to a roundabout where several streets branch off of a road loop if that makes sense. No need to have all the sarcasm, different people call things by different names, deal with it.

Ring Of Fire- The product slideshow may be annoying to you, but you are not everyone. If it bothers you that much, don't look at it! No one is forcing you to!

  7. Just curious....why do you think you need new reeds??? The reeds shouldn't need replaced as long as you have the diffuser. Just flip them over and they will rescent themselves from the other end. :yay:

as far as how long they last, I have had mine for 3 months and it still smells. The fragrance should last as long as the liquid does. As the liquid evaporates, the scent may weaken, but will still be there. You could always add a few drops of FO to your base to freshen it up as well :)

  8. Can you make up quite a few in advance & wrap them. Will this keep the fo. in them as long as they are wrapped? Pat

yes you can!! I actually had some snowmen from last years shows that I found still packaged up that I found the other day while cleaning, and they still smell wonderful!! I have made them a few months ahead during the busy season with no problems :)

    HTH,

    Steph

holy moly!! $51.95 for a gallon of room spray base???!!! :shocked2:

I purchase mine from Indiana Candle supplies http://www.candlesupplys.us/ It is only $15.95/gallon and works great!! They also have the clamshell molds there. I get my bottles from The Candlemakers Zoovy http://candlemakers.zoovy.com/category/containers___bottles.cosmo_ovals/, and have also ordered from SKS bottle http://www.sks-bottle.com/. Both have great product and prices!! HTH :)

  10. Thank you both for your suggestions. Can either of you give me an idea of how much FO I should use per blank? I would want good scent but don't want it dripping on the dash....:laugh2:

I just 'paint' my fragrance on with a paint brush. It doesnt take much at all. I do one side, let dry, do the other, then repeat the process, and package when dry. I measured it one day, and it came to about 1/10 oz of FO per blank. :)
