  1. Can you recommend ANY VERY STRONG FOS TO USE WITH MY Reed Diffusers? Okay -- I have tried 40+ fos for my reed diffusers and out of all of them -- only MC Cozy Home and Gain throw really well. Cozy Home is the best by far...the scent lasts 4 months+ and lingers. Why can't I find another FO that does the same thing! I am currently using C&S FOE and need a few FOS that throw well -- can you recommend any fall or spicy scents that throw strong exceptionally well at a mix of 50 FO to 50 FOE? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
  2. For those of you who have tested CS Cinnamons -- which one has the strongest "HOT" throw (I use 4627) -- Cinnamon Styk or Red Hot Cinnamon?
  3. Have you tried 2 83s? How long does it take to get a full melt pool with 2 93s? I was going to start there but thought it may burn too fast? Thanks! MJ
  4. I double wick my 10, 16 or 26 oz apothecary jars that are 4 inches in diameter? I currently use LS Zinc 21 or 23 but wanted to try HTP wicks to see if I increase the hot throw. Can anyone recommend what size HTPs I should use for these jars. I have in stock 83 and 93 -- but should I double wick with something smaller like 52, 62, 73 or are 83 or 93 the right sizes?. Thanks...your input is greatly appreciated! MJ:yay:
  5. Is anyone else overwhelmed by all the apple fo choices -- pie, peel, baked, oak, cobbler, cinnamon etc. etc. ect. I have been using Snowtops Baked Apple and the throw is fabulous but I think my customers are sick of it...it just has not sold well for me the past 2 years. I'm looking for that perfect combination of apples and cinnamon but not too heavy on the bakery note. If you could pick 1 apple fo that throws well...what scent and who's fo would it be?
  6. I'm in search of a strong "straight-up spice" scent -- without any apple, bakery or pumpkin notes in it. I LOVE Yankee's Home Sweet Home or BCN's Harvest BUT am looking for something MUCH STRONGER. Can anyone recommend a to die for spice scent -- maybe a clove, country/grandma's kitchen type spice scent that throws EXTRA STRONG? Thanks!
  7. A customer requested a "run you out to the house" extra strong fall spice type scent (either cinnamon or harvest or pumpkin spice). She owns a large kennel and would like to fill an extra large space with a strong fall type scent -- you know the kind that "run you out of the house". Any recommendations of FOs and suppliers greatly appreciated! I use 4627 and J225!
  8. Can anyone recommend 1 or 2 really strong throwing Christmas "type" FOs for reed diffusers. I used C&S FOE. Most of what I have tried so far is floral or fresh smelling. I would love to try Christmas/Holiday/Bakery scents...any recommendations? Thanks, MJ:cheesy2:
  9. Some FOs just seem to throw like crazy in any wax I try them in. Can anyone recommend other FOs that throw like crazy (extra strong)? Here are a few that have been working great for me in either J-223 or 4630. These scents fill large rooms quickly: Celtic Moonspice (Rustic) Amish Harvest (Peak) Pumpkin Cheesecake (BCS) Buttercream Crunch (WYW)
  10. Thanks for the tip on Celtic Moonspice -- it's exactly what I was looking for. Let me know what you think of the Home Sweet Home from Gena -- I almost ordered it. MJ
  11. I have 3 different size apothecary jars (10, 16 and 26 oz) for my 4627 wax and wondered if I should start with 2 51z or 2 60z, 2 lx24 or 2 cd 18?
  12. I really like Peak's Amish Harvest but I am looking for more of a straight spice type scent -- like Yankee's Home Sweet Home or BCN's Harvest BUT MUCH STRONGER. Thanks!
  13. I'm in search of a VERY STRONG Fall Spice Type FO -- you know the kind of scent that hits you in the face constantly and not one that your nose gets use to! I am a 223 user and could really use any suggestions. I love BCN's Harvest but it just doesn't give you that constant smell I am looking for like BCS's Pumpkin Cheesecake. Thanks!
  14. I like C&S's FOE -- it seems to mix well with my FOs. I have been testing cottage breeze, sandy stones and lemongrass from C&S and so far have been pleased. I also use C&S's reeds. I really wanted a strong fall scent -- so I wil try a sample of Mill Creek's Cinnamon Stick! Thanks for the tip. MJ
  15. I live in Syracuse, NY and have a few cases I could ship you that I am not using. Let me know if you are interested -- mtguard@verizon.net.
  16. Can you recommend ANY VERY STRONG FOS TO USE WITH MY Reed Diffusers? I am currently using C&S FOE and need a few FOS that throw well. I have read posts that say C&S -- Sandy Stones and Cottage Breeze throw well -- but can you recommend any fall or spicy scents that throw strong at a mix of 50 FO to 50 FOE? Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
  17. I currently use double 44-32 or 51 z wicks with my 10, 16 and 26 oz apothecary jars in 223. I also use low smoke 21 or 23 wicks in these jars. I was wondering if anyone is getting a better throw using different wicks -- like HTP or LX or are zinc wicks the best choice for this wax? MJ
  18. Sorry for the repeat but I posted this under the vegetable wax thread and meant to submit it here! I use apothecary jars 10, 16 and 26 oz with either 2 44-32 z or 2 51 z and heat to 185 add 8% using 223. I really like this wax but am not sure why I am not getting that hit you in the face throw. I am using strong FOs (WYW, Peak) so I don't think that's the problem. It's also not candlenose because I am farming some out for friends to test. I was wondering what everyone else is doing with this wax to achieve that killer throw that so many people claim. Do you any tips for maximizing the scent throw with this wax -- i.e. adding a % of soy, using hotter wicks (HTP or cotton), only using 6% etc. I would love to hear what other 223 users are doing -- if anything. Thanks! I LOVE THIS FORUM!! :-)

  20. I was wondering if someone could explain -- why can't I smell my J-223 candles in the room they are burning but I can smell in the room next to where they are burning. I am currently burning BCN Harvest which is a great throwing scent -- however you cannot smell it in my kitchen but can smell it in my family room off the kitchen. I like to constantly smell a scent -- that hit you in the face smell in whichever room I am burning it in -- I just don't achieve that with this wax. I thought it was a fluke and lit another candle and it did the same thing -- THROW TO MY FAMILY ROOM next to my kitchen. ANY IDEAS are welcomed! MJ
  21. Okay I am finally testing this wax. I am a 223/225 user -- but I am introducing a limited line of soy candles this year along with my container candles. Can you recommend 5 or so very strong throwing (you know run you out of the house strong FOS that I can sample in this wax -- either GL's or others that ROCK. I am looking at carrying soy candles in 20 and 10 oz tins. Any recommendation are greatly appreciated. Thanks :-)))
  22. I decided to try j-225 and several scents I use in 223 are not throwing as strong in 225. Are there any j-225 users out there?
  23. I wanted to know which double wicks you think work best in APOTHECARY JARS - 4 INCHES IN DIAMETER using J-223 wax? I have been using either 2 44-32-18z or 2 51-32-18 -- but I am still getting that awful mushroom and it seems to be burning too fast. I have also tried 44-32-18 cotton wicks and it seems to be a little better but not much. I have LX 16 & 18, HTP 93 and CD 16 & 18. I was just wondering what you are using with these jars? I am looking for wicks that will produce a FMP in 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  24. 2 questions: 1) Can you tell me where I can buy (wholesale or inexpensive) candle accessories such as any type of cute tin holders or trimmers to sell at my craft shows along with my container candles? and 2) Where is the cheapest place to buy aroma beads or smelly jelly beads? Thanks, MJ
  25. The 26 oz jars are a pain and a 44-32 just doesn't get there so I always have to wick up. Are you using zinc wicks?
