  1. I don't make candles, I'm an Herbalist and soapmaker, and if you remove all of the time for state and federal regulations, it was a goodly amount of time. There isn't really a comparison in Herbalism but in soapmaking a year, but I actually dont think the length of time is the only factor, it's also the number of batches the amount of soap one makes. And also all you learn when Sunshine goes wrong. The amount you learn when you stretch your skills. I imagine the same or similar learning process applies to candle making.

If it were possible, I would like, the candle fragrance companies to have ads on the right-hand side of the page so we could easily click through to their websites when someone mentions their company.  Since a number of members use abbreviations, it would be nice to also have a "key" at the top of the list of ads so those of us who can't remember anything (me), would know that, say, "CRA" refers to the "Can't Remember Anything" fragrance company. *shudder*  (That isn't a priority; I should just do this myself and print it off.)

    That is brilliant!

OK, @iansmommaya, after reading your post, I am forced to admit that I use the word "decor" very loosely.  My scheme is no scheme.  If I like it, I have it.  If I don't like it, it's not here.  Wait...I know!  Let's call my style "eclectic," because that sounds way cooler than "random"  or "totally haphazard."

An acquaintance once remarked that the more intelligent her friends were, the worse they were at decorating.  By that measuring stick, my IQ must be on par with Einstein's.

Same! I am however degrees of separation from Einstein, my grampa was a neurologist and someone on the Manhattan project had some mysterious neurological disorder his patient who worked with Einstein on the Manhattan Project and Grampa became acquainted with him.

Interested to hear how your incense turns out.  I've put incense supplies in my shopping cart a gazillion times but never actually checked out.

668 is a very respectable #, but if you want to boost it a bit, respond to this.  😉

Thank you! Are you thinking of dipping sticks or cones with DPG or other solvent?  or hand making the incense?

  6. Soooo. I don't make candles but I do buy them and love them. I love the look of herbs dried little bits of ephemera on the tops of candles. It reminds me of an Alter space, really. Here is the thing... little bits of dried herbs burn and combust and fly away in the air like sparks from a fire ring. And while lovely you do not want sparks and embers flying around your house.
