Here is a cut & paste of the INCI for WSP's honey M & P base:
INCI Ingredients: Propylene Glycol, Sorbitol, Glycerin, Honey, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Myristate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Triethanolamine, Water.
Compare it to the ingredients of the honey base you can get at Brambleberry:
- Coconut Oil
- Palm Oil
- Castor Oil
- Safflower Oil
- Glycerin (kosher, of vegetable origin)
- Purified Water
- Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent)
- Sorbitol (moisturizer)
- Sorbitan oleate (emulsifier)
- Soy bean protein (conditioner)
- Honey
- EDTA (water softener)
Where are the moisturizing, nourishing oils in the one from WSP? This might be why the WSP M & P bases are so drying.

Thank you for this, I copied and pasted the relevant remarks into my Word program. I am going to put it in my soaping notebook!

I have not yet made any bath melts. What is this crunchiness issue that is mentioned?
Thanks, Jill~
Hot plate and thermometer recommends?
in General Soap Making
Posted
I need a double burner hot plate. Can anyone recommend one that you can set the temp the burners will acheive? Like dial it to 180 degrees and it will do that?
Also, can anyone recommend where I can get a good soap-making thermometer, or candle making?
Thanks, Jill~
