  1. Hi Everyone, I've been searching for this scent with little luck. Has anyone ever found a duplication FO for Yankee's "Good Morning"? If you haven't ever smelled it, it's fantastic - muffins, coffee, orange juice - sounds weird but it's a great scent for a "good morning"! If no one knows of any duplications, I'm interested in any other recommendations that you might have. I'll be using the FO for soy candle making. Thanks, Faith
  2. Thanks for the response. Do you know what temp you're typically at when it begins to cloud? Just curious. Everything I've read about adding FO says to add it just before the pour but I'll totally give it a try by adding it right after I take it off the heat. I did try the heat gun last night and it fixed the sink hole but the top wasn't as smooth as I would have liked. Then this AM, the jar is basically one giant wet spot with great glass adhesion the entire way around the jar, except at the lower 1/2 inch where it pulled away all the way around. Can you clarify something for me? Is the goal with CB-135 to have it pull away from the sides or is the goal to have good glass adhesion with no pull (resulting in various wet spots)? Thanks!
  3. Hi Everyone, I've done some searching of the threads regarding holes, tunnels, sink holes, etc, but they've all talked about how they showed up after burning or days later. For me, I poured the candle about 1 hour ago and now there's a hole about the size of a pencil eraser and is about 1/8" from the glass and about 1 inch from the wick. I can see about 1/2" down into the hole. There is also some sinking from where the hole is located toward the wick, almost like the wax is collapsing underneath. I noticed the candle set up/cooled from the bottom, then the top and then around the sides/middle. It's the first time I've used this jar so I don't know if that's normal - thought I should mention it. Details: Jar: 12 oz. Status Wax: Ecosoya CB-135 Wick: LX-16 FO: Lavender Basil Room temp: 77 Heated Wax: 180 Added FO: 130 Poured: 125 Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? Should I try pouring at a lower temp? Thanks, Faith
  4. They also raised the CB-135. I paid $49.95 about three weeks ago for a 50# case and now that's hiked up another $15.00 too. Damn that's a huge increase! I'm none too happy right now. Tsk, tsk CandleScience!
  5. Hey Jess - that is a big bummer. I just looked and it's $69.96 for a 50# case - WOW!
  6. Thanks for the response. I'm new to candle making and it's only the second dye I've tried. The last dye chip worked great - no flecks, but then again, it was a much lighter dye. I'll try adding the chips at a higher temp as you suggested and see what happens. Thanks for the help.
  7. Hello Everyone :smiley2: I made some tarts this weekend with Ecosoya-PB - everything came out great except that there were little specks of darker color on the underside of the tart. I added dye at 165 degrees and stirred frequently until I added FO at 130 degrees and poured at 125 degrees. Has anyone had this happen to them with candles, tarts, etc when using PB and dye chips? If so, are there any suggestions for what I can do next time so this doesn't happen again? Thanks, Faith
  8. Hey Everyone, This is my first post and hopefully I'm doing it properly (right location, etc). If not, go easy on me - I'm a newbie to this forum and candle making. I'm looking for advice and tips on using regular/full-size muffin tins for making tarts - (I am using EcoSoya PB). I welcome any and all suggestions, play by plays, and more. Has anyone tried making tarts with these tins? Thanks! Faith :smiley2:
