  1. Maybe fill out her inquiry form again but put in there that you wanted to make sure she has gotten your previous emails since yo have not heard anything back yet. And see if that does anything.

GL and I also had this happen as well. I bought a template for my new website and they were great during and right after but when I email them about some problems I was having with the template and also about getting a label made to match my design and I got one email asking what design I had and then NOTHING. I almost contacted another person but then finally she email me and said she was so sorry that she was super busy from the holidays.

But obviously your is not busy if she can response to someone else within 30 minutes.

  2. Yeah I am using a parasoy blend also. I waited until it was a little past the corn syrup stage but by accident, got on the computer and forgot about the candle. I did notice when I was heating up the sides of the jar to get the air bubbles out the dye was rising also. So maybe that is why both of ours color stayed mostly at the top.

  3. Just because it has a reccomended application does not mean there is a law in which you must abide. If it works for ya, use it!!

    :cheesy2::cheesy2:

I do realize that the recommended guidelines are just that but the reason I am asking is I have never used them and was hoping to find some information about them. The lady that gave them to me had no clue what they were used for, she bought a bunch of stuff from someone going out of business. I didnt want to take them but she kept on about giving them to me since I was buying so much from her. I didnt want to seem rude by telling her that is ok, again. I have had them since about July, they are sitting in a box and have not thought twice about them until I just saw someone mention them.

Was just trying to figure out if they are something I can test or if I just need to get rid of them. Thanks.

  4. Yeah I did think about doing that. But my main mistake was I used 2 full drops of brown in that candle, 9oz. I know that was way to much. But at least this gives me something I kinda feel good about and now would like to try again. After the other ones I didnt want to try anymore but then I figured just one more time. My husband actually came home today and said now that is a start.

With this one I used a Popsicle stick to swirl it, which did a lot better than using my spoon.

Good luck tonight, I am sure you will get better results than me. Cant want to see.

  5. I just want to walmart and got some bins that were only $1. They are not that big but would be great to put my melts and votives in, so at least they will be out of my way, they have the 5 on the bottom. But they would also be great to put my BAGS of wicks in, all my liquid dye, and possibly a few other things. All my other stuff is all over the house.

In our living room I have a desk set up the with a sheet folded over it, and I use all the drawers and even have some stuff under it. And the rest is in boxes lined up on the wall in my dinning room.

Man I cant wait until we get a house and then I can hopefully have my own space in the basement, or maybe even if we can get a house with enough land I can have my own workshop built behind the house. But here is to hoping.

    Good luck at keep organized.

  6. Hey coconut,

If you decide you like those premier wicks, I have 765, 740, 790 & 798 for sale.

They are all boxed 1000 except the 765. I used some of those but not many.

PM me if you are interested.

    Sharon

Hey I am sorry but I have a question, what is the recommended candle size for the 740? I was given a hole box of them from a lady I bought a bunch of other supplies from but she had no idea what size they were for. Thanks

  7. Ok so I did the soy jar container candle. It came out A LOT better then the others I tried. But I still got a lot of work to do on this. The last photo is the one spot I dont like out of the candle. I tried to make sure I didnt drop the dye on the side of the container but that is were some of it ended up. Also to top part of the candle is more mixed then the bottom, but hey I tried.

    Here you go.

  8. Well I dont use that soy wax but I do use CD wicks and I love them, of course I have only tried a few different wicks. I know tootie uses this wax and she also uses CD wicks so maybe she will chime in and give her two cents.

Good for you on being able to get smooth tops and no frosting. This is something that took me some time to master but now I have switched to a soy/paraffin blend and am having some more trouble with the top again. But I am trying to work it out.

Good luck and have fun testing some more, it really never ends.

  9. Ok I dont know anything about ECO sizes but why are you using an ECO 4 and ECO 10 in the same jar? Are they really that close in size?

I think you got a few links mixed up, I think the second link for the 4oz ECO 10 should be switched with the second one of the 6oz ECO 10.

I cant really tell from your photos but it looks like the 6oz ECO 10 is doing the best as far as melt pool. Maybe try trimming the wick shorter than normal to see if you still get the shrooms, if so try wicking down one more.

The 4oz ECO 4 seems like it is going to drown out. Try wicking up just one size.

The other two look from the photos that they have a melt pool of half way down the jars, if so that is not good. Do you have any other pictures of them in better lighting?

  10. Wow!!! I am just starting to get into this and will be placing my first order within the next couple of days. now I need to go a find out everything I can about swirling M&P soap, those are just gorgeous, I really really like the yellow one.

Wow you really did a great job, keep it up.

  11. I don't think Peak's carries that scent. I haven't checked in awhile though.

You are right they dont, how weird I see that scent everywhere. I guess next time I should make sure what I am asking about is available. Thanks for the heads up.

  12. From what I understood in her posts she did use soy wax, poured it into the container, let it set for a few, dropped in a drop or two of color and swirled it a bit. Like I said, I think that's what she did. I'm going to try it on wednesday (my day off) and see how it comes out. Unless you do it first, LOL.

Ok well maybe that would work if I pored it into the container and then added the color. I will have to give this a try and see how it goes. Hopefully it will turn out better than the other ones I did.

If I get the bug tonight, I will let you know but if not tomorrow for sure.

These candles are just so beautiful, I want to have some really beautiful ones too.

  13. Also, the only thing I can find missing is fragrance, will you be leaving your soap unscented? Peak has many fragrances, I would pick a few small bottles.

But the stuff you listed is perfect.

    HTH!

    Melany

Hello thanks so much for the feedback. I already have fragrances, I make candles, and I know some of them are skin safe and I was just going to use them, was mainly thinking about using my lemongrass sage, but now candybee has got me thinking about getting oatmeal, milk and honey.

Do you know how the Oatmeal, Milk & Honey is from Peaks? Or does anyone else know?

  14. If you follow the link to the old craft server board there are several pics of marble container candles. Look for posts by EB_Candles, she has a lot of them there.

Ok wow this is really hard to do, and mine came out looking like crap.

The first time I tried black cherry and added black and red but I let the wax get to hard and then I couldnt get it into the jar.

The second one I did was lemongrass sage and use yellow and green but mixed it to much and now have a dinosaur egg that is all yellow with green spots. And my tops look horrible.

I will check out the other threads on the old message board but I dont think they used soy back then. I did have about 25% paraffin in these candles so maybe I will try and all paraffin container candle and see if that work, just not sure yet.

  15. Hemp Seed Oil Melt & Pour Soap Base 2 lb.

Goat's Milk Melt & Pour Soap Base 2 lbs.

    Cherry Blossom Soap Mold

Sunshine Yellow Liquid Colorant 2 oz.

Is this ok to start with with my first soaps? Everything is from peaks.

And from what I have read this is pretty much everything I need but the FO with I already have.

And what is the difference in the colorant and the oxide? I was thinking about getting the oxide but was really sure how to use it.

Please tell me if I am missing something or if this stuff is not that great to start with.

Also one more question is the soap stuff at natures gardens any good? The soap base is cheaper there but I can find out if it the SFIC kind.

Well thanks for any help anyone can give me.

  16. I believe you need to wick down on all of them, especially the one that almost liquefied the WHOLE candle.

I usually like my mp to be only about 1/4 inch, but with my jars they taper at the bottom and the last little bit gets between 1/4 and 1/2.

Try wicking down and see if that helps with the shrooms also.

    HTH some.

  17. Thanks guys for the answers. So I think M&P is the way to go for now. Now just need to read everything I can think of before I go a buy stuff.

I do plan to start doing more B&B, just wasnt going to do it so soon.

Well thanks for you guys for the help, and if you know of any good websites out there could be please give me the link. Thanks

  18. Ok well it is looking like the only place I will be able to get insurance is soap guild or indie. And since indie is almost $100 more I was thinking about try out making soap.

I just need one kind of soap to make in order to be able to do the soap guild. So is there an easy one to do and get it right and right away?:shocked2: I know what am I thinking, but my fingers are crossed. And all without spending a lot of money?

I know the FO I want to use is the lemongrass sage, from candlewic, which I know is skin safe.

So if anyone can please give me any pointers, I would greatly appreciate it.

And also could I use my silicone molds I already have that are shapes of stars and hearts? And just call them guest soaps? And this way that is one less thing I will have to buy.

I would love to do the CP and make the marbled soaps buy just dont know if it will be hard to get down.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

  19. I use IGI1343 and start the wax out like normal, add vybar and stearic and scent, then decide which color I want. I only use liquid dye as I don't think anything else will work, then let the wax cool, constantly stirring once it starts to get a film. I continue to stir until it looks like runny mashed potatos and add two or three drops of dye, Stir slightly, ( I zig zag across the wax a few times) just enough to get the marble look and then pour. The next step is very important in getting those air bubbles out... I heat the side of the mold with my heat gun and take a second to tap the mold on the counter a couple times, then heat once more then tap again just like before. Be careful when your adding your dye not to get it too close to the sides of the mold because then it just seems to create "blotches" of color instead of marbled color no matter how you stir it.

I dont do pillars but was think about doing this in my containers. Have you done this before? Do you think it would work. Well I am going to try it tomorrow and I will let you know how it goes. These are just beautiful candles, job well done.
