  1. We mix ours using OO and FO and never tell our customers to add water. Oil and water don't mix! When the water evaporates / burns off it will sizzle and crack your pot. Ask me how I know. :laugh2:

We tried it with the tea light warmer and learned the lesson quickly! We use mostly electric warmers now, which are a bit more forgiving. We've never had smoke or steam with our electric ones, but we sure did with our tea lights!

We test in both and I never dilute in water anymore. One cracked pot was enough! LOL

  2. Strong pumpkin scents for us is:

Pumpkin Spice Latte from Just Scent (this is a STRONG oil and super nice in wax!)

Pumpkin Bread from Just Scent is super strong also and has more of a bakery type note to it. Really smells like you're baking pumpkin bread in the oven

Frosted pumpkin type from JS also has a great throw and is a dead on duplication of the yankee type. Delicious!

  3. Oh? Are you not the same person that recently moved from TX to MI and has rats for pets? The avatar was the same that was used on another board, as were the pictures that you posted here and there. Oh well...my mistake I guess...

As for the New JS Buttercream Frosting, this one is a more true buttercream, not quite as heavy as the older one, if that makes sense. A little less buttery, a little more creamy.

  4. We've always had good luck with this one in our C3. The first one we tried was from another supplier and it didn't throw well, so I almost didn't order it from JS, expecting the same results. Happy to say tho, the JS one throws really well for us!

  5. I haven't tried it - but I have three people that have been bugging me for it. One is my nail tech who just opened a shop....so I have to get it - cause that is future business there...lol. The other is my hair dresser....same thing...

So I will break down and order.....sigh...lmao

I have this one, you'll like it. It's an exact dupe of the original.

  6. I pour hot.. About 165.

Start at a 50/50 blend and go from there.. You can tweak it to your liking...

That is the nice thing about this blend.. No waiting for the slushy stage!!!

    HTH...

ETS: Renee.. The reason I asked about the problems with the C-3 is I got a batch that was not melting right in the presto . It would bubble while melting and was very cloudy. Usally it melts clear.. Thought maybe you got a batch of this.

YES! Thats exactly it! I thought I was the only one having problems with this! Glad to know it's not just me! Did your candles have the slushy / crunchy tops as well?

  7. Thats what I'm saying, out of the same pour pot, same stirring, same fo, same wicks..everything...2 out of 5 candles were ok. To me, it's not worth my time to make it right.

Time is money in business, something alot of people forget to figure. You may make $5 profit off a candle but if it takes you 2 days to make that candle, you've just lost money. Even if you're paying yourself minimum wage, you've lost money.

  8. We had a batch like that a while back when the temps here were changing. I put 'em in the oven, remelted, cooled and the problem "healed" itself. Dunno what was the problem but other batches from the same case didn't do that, so I have to assume it was something I did differently or something different about the environment or the cooling or sumthin'... shoulda hulaed...

Thats what we're experiencing right now with it. I'm not wasting my time dinking around with it anymore. I've always had very good luck with this supplier, but C3 is way too expensive to get an "iffy" batch right now.

  9. mushy tops but with almost a sugar crystal like consistency. I would have sworn it was something I did wrong but there was no rhyme or reason. Out of the same pour pot, same fo, same everything, 3 out of 10 candles would be ok. Those aren't good odds.

Last night, I poured 3 candles, again, same pour pot, same fo, same wick, same jars.. NONE of the three candles hardened. They "slushed". I've never had this happen before and I've never seen or heard anything like it happening. This is the same technique we've used for years and have never had this happen. Something with this batch of wax tho, because I tried a bit that I had left over from our last batch and it was another beautiful candle.

  10. I've worked with C3 for years but this last batch isn't playing nice and I'm not up to "bending it to my will" like the good little minion it's always been LOL

With the price going way up, we're expanding into a different wax that we also really love. I hate to say goodbye to C3, but until they make it more dependable and consistent, they're losing our business. We changed the name and look of our business, let all our customers know and have pretty much made the switch. So far, all the responses have been positive about the soy blend instead of the "pure soy".
