parisian candles

Newbie candle maker here. I need some wick suggestions. I am testing a 4 oz classic jar, 4786 wax, 10% FO, wicked with HTP 31 but it is starting to drown after burning about half way down. I feel I should downsize the wick, but I don't know what else to use. I have tried the zinc core wicks and really don't like them. I poured a 6 oz jar, same wax and FO and wicked with HTP 41 and got excellent results. Any suggestions would be greatly appreicated. THT
