  1. FOH oils are now at Elements, Bath and Body. FOH closed several years ago.

I have to agree that a great Pecan Pie and Cinnamon Buns are at Candle Science. They both throw great in paraffin, soy, and palm wax.

After looking I am pretty sure that I am wrong on the name. I remember it was A Scent Shoppe and then sold to Fragrance Oil Central, maybe? I just love their Cinnamon Buns and Caramel Pecan Pie. I have been out of making candles for several years and wanted to get back into it a little.

  2. Which ones look prettier or more elegant??? Coating or no coating?

    Thanks for the info.

    Tammie

I get most of my beads from Firemountain too. In their beads, AB means Aurora Borealis. One side of their beads have a special coating to make them have a different look from the ones what don't have the coating. Below is an explination from their site. You can also find Swarovski beads at Michaels. They are usually a little more expensive though because of bulk buying and all.

Aurora Borealis Named for the Northern Lights. In costume jewelry, a term for crystal stones that have a highly iridescent surface. The effect is achieved by vapor blasting the facets of the lower part of the crystals with an invisible, micro thin metal sheet. This stone was created by Swarovski® in 1955 in collaboration with Christian Dior. Also known as AB, the term now refers to any iridescent finish.

  3. I went to order from Darice the 3.25" rusty tin plates and they are out until the end of May or 1st part of June. Also they are out of the white looking ones. Does anyone have 50-60 of these they would like to sell??? pm me if you have some to sell in rusty or the white ones.

OR if you know of another source that has these please let me know.

    Thanks!

  4. Do you sell a refresher oil with them????

    Hello,

I make electric candles. Been making them for a little while now. Here's one of my new ones. It's my Birthday Cake candle scented FROSTED Cupcake! Smells so good!

I place these on a cream or rusty candle pan and package it with cello tied with raffia.

Any comments or how I could improve would be helpful!

  5. Does anyone have a couple 3 watt & 6 watt silicone bulbs that I could purchase to test with my new electric candles. They are pretty small and I don't want to order a bunch from Darice without knowing the exact size needed??? Also, if you have 3-4 socket sets I would be interested in those as well. Please pm me. Thank You!

Angela, how long have you been making the candles or trying??? My 1st suggestion to you would be to wait on the candles until you have them perfected. Test every single size container and fragrance that you are going to carry and get them perfected before selling them. If your candles don't burn correctly that will stop repeat customers and that would hurt your business. Testing takes alot of time and is very costly, but it has to be done. I don't mean to discourage you, but in the end it will be better for your business.

  7. Booth fee is just the beginning of making a profit. Way too many other things to consider when doing a show and counting profit or loss when it's over. Things I consider:

How far away was the show from home? How much gas did I have to use to get there and back however many times for however many days? Did I do anything different this show? i.e. new displays? different packaging? How many hours of my time do I need to account for? Did I have any help that I need to pay for? And a biggie.. how much do I need to subtract for supplies from this profit? So, while a certain dollar amount x my booth fee may sound great, what does it really mean? nada for me! :)

Prairieannie, I am with you on this one. When looked at with everything taken in to consideration, sometimes these things aren't worth all the time & effort involved.

  8. Vicky, what type of rock is used for this???

btw, this is a great idea. Thank You!

Tammie I would not worry about the scent, do what I do I have bags of the bigger stuff at my shop and Saturadys when my son invites friends down about once a month, I drag it out with some soap dyes and I mix up little cups of dyes and let them dip them just like easter eggs then the put them on paper towels to dry and then I let them decorate my shop for the day with them. About an hour before they go home I drag out the construction paper or card board and let them glue there wonderful colored rocks in any design they want and sent them home with them for Mom and Dad.
  9. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, if not, mods please move it.

I was wondering about the Crystal Rock Potpourri. What size and type works for this. I saw this at a craft show over a year ago and really like the looks of them. I was approched by my little ones teacher and she asked if I could do a craft with the kids the first week of December and it be something for them to give their parents for the Holidays. I got to thinking that this would be something that would be easy enough to do with a class of 24. I would already have them colored and scented and let them scoop whatever color and scent into the jars and if they want to mix scents and colors that would be fine as well. Is there any sort of tricks to this stuff?? Thanks in advance.

    Tammie

  10. I was out today and saw these air fresheners that are in jars, but they weren't the smelly jelly water crystals. They are some kind of gel. Anyone know where to get this stuff or what it's called.
