  1. Hi all..... I have been making soy candles for 4 yrs. Got interested in Bath and Body . Have been pouring M&P soap and lotion for about a year. Love it. Now I have the bug to make CP soap. I am collecting my materials to start my new adventure, as I wait for everything to arrive, I am researching and reading everything I can get my hands on about CP. I did a search for my question, and started reading threads from the beginning of this forum, came up with nothing, so I apologize if this question has been asked before, but here goes......can I add yogurt to a CP recipe? TIA
  2. Hi all.... I order Pumpkin Souffle from Candle Science but they are out of stock. My fault, shouldn't have waited until I am almost out. Anyway, does anyone know what company I can order from and get comparable scent? Thx
  3. I use a Presto Melting Pot, so I melt my wax and let it cool to the hard stage. Then the next day or two I reheat my wax to about 170(tempering), then add USA and CO. Tempering could have help with my frosting but I started using USA about the same time. So it's hard to say. I've had such good luck with tempering, USA and CO don't want to rock the boat. Another thing that could have helped is the temp is getting warmer outside. I did notice in the winter after the candles had set a few days the frost appeared. I kept the house @ 70-72. So who's to say. Nature of the beast, I guess. Good luck.... I hope this helps. I'm not an expert by any means. I read and test. This is a great forum full of info.
  4. I use CB 135. I add CO and USA to the wax before I add color. I was having trouble with purples, blues and reds frosting. So far no frosting and nice creamy tops on all colors with the addition of these two additives.
  5. I get my CO at Wal-Mart (Lou Ana)brand in the cooking oil section. I pour my wax from a melting pot and I add it then with my color.
  6. I use CB 135and great a CT/HT The only problem I have is with frosting with certian colors. I use 1 oz of FO pp, 1/2 t CO w/CDN wicks, and for my problem children colors I add 1/2t of USA to the mix. I pour b/t 105 to 110.:whoohoo:
  7. I use CB-135. I love this wax for the most part. Its easy to work with, my c/h throw is great and my candles look awesome with most colors. I do have some frosting issues with certain colors. I am testing CB-Advanced with the colors that frost. Hope this helps.
  8. Thanks for replying to my thread. I did order a sample pack of CDN wicks from JBN today. Can't wait to get them. The wicks I use now are fine but I want to see I can do better. The more I read, the more I learn and want to try new things. Stella, the tip about high temp gasket maker........awesome. Thanks a bunch:yay:
  9. I use ecosoya 135, add fragrance at 125 and pour at 110. My candles have a great cold and hot scent throw. But this has been my experience my not be right but it works for me. Hope this helps.
  10. I have been reading a lot of threads on wicks. Right now I use LX. I I ordered CSN14 and 16. I googled Stabilo KTS wicks and came up with a web site wicksunlimited.com but don't see where I can order them. I use Ecosoya 135 in 8oz and 16oz. mason jars. Any advice:confused:
  11. Thanks Stella for the info and the high-temp gasket maker tip. I'm heading for the store tomorrow.
  12. Hi all, I have been making soy candles for a short time. I love it!!!!! Wish I would have started a long time ago. Anyway.... a lot of info on web sites, so I'm trying to read and learn as well as test, test, test. I use CB135 in mostly 8 oz. or a 16 oz. mason jars with pretabbed wicks. I place my wicks with hot glue before I pour the wax. I just read to place pretabbed wick as soon as the wax starts to set in bottom of jar. Occasionally, I do have wicks move when the melt pool gets to the bottom of the container. But not with every candle. So do I wick before I pour or after?????
