  1. If you are looking for Misty Creek type molds at more affordable pricing andmore sizes to choose from check out this site:

    http://www.freewebs.com/anhoki/moldsbabymolds.htm

Anhoki makes some wonderful molds, I have several of them! And I love the size of the bars. I wrap mine with a cigar label. I do not like the added expense of a box. I was just reading a forum post abut boxes, and most of the buyers said they would prefer not to have a box because it just gets thrown away and it is an added expense for them to pay. I will have to find it, it provided great feedback about boxes.

I love my slab molds and my log molds. I am just starting to have bars that are the same size, before I was everywhere as far as sizing. I like my bars in my log molds to be big and chunky, and in my slab to be about .5" smaller than the log bars. It really all depends on what you like.

    Are those all slab molds?

  2. Woo hoo don't you just love it when you are required to turn yourself into a mad scientist to make soap? I would suggest that you try it several different ways. Maybe try it like you were originally instructed, then try adding it at trace mixed into a little water. I've never tried the powdered DSC, but I hope it works out for ya. Let us know and don't forget to post pics!

  3. I absolutley adore mine! I made one with a patch and orange blend that makes my skin feel so soft. I made another batch with orange and coconut that smells distinctly like lemon bundt cake suprise from BCN, only it smells a bit better! LOL That second batch is just about ready to use too.

  4. This recipe absolutley ROCKS!!!!! Thanks for sharing! I made my version of this using the prime cocoa butter I got in the co-op, OMG!!!!!:shocked2: It is so awesome I love it. It is a little harder than I really would like it to be but I know that comes from the high CB and it is REALLY cold in my house all the time. I used it last night after my shower and I can still feel the moisturising 12 hours later!

I'm off to try a version with my pumpkin butter now!

  5. I will say this one thing about them and that is this...I got the sheets of paper and the box they sent it in is about 10 inches longer than the paper. When they packed it up, they didn't put anything in the box to keep the paper from shifting or to support the shape of the box so one end of the box (but not the paper)was smashed and you could see into the box. Other than that though, no complaints!

  6. I was playing with a 90% shea bar just the other day and scented it with sweet pumpkin spice from peaks and pumpkin nog from JS. Ofcourse since I was soaping shea, I can't truly tell you if it accelerated, but man I had to put that soap under the sink because the smell was making me soooooooooooooooo hungry!

  7. I currently use the boxes that CF sends their gallon F-jugs in. I cut them in half lengthwise and then I retape the flaps so that the box is smooth on the inside. Et Voila! I have two molds to play with. I use this

This paper is GREAT!! Very thick and sturdy. Holds up very well to soaping and I think it was a pretty good deal considering how I use it. I cut the paper in half and if I am careful when unmolding, I can get more than one use out of it. HTH.

  8. Keep tweaking! Don't give up! So you have tried one thing different and gotten the same results, but you learned to play with your recipes. Olive oil is another good slow tracing oil. Perhaps this time try it without the clover FO and see what happens. If that doesn't work try adding OO to the mix and switching out another component of the blend until you find it! Also consider commiting this blend to the crock pot. you can still get some very beautiful effects from the crock pot ya know. It isn't wasted soap either it is still good maybe just not pretty in your opinion. :embarasse

  9. :awww:Awww hon don't feel bad. I know there are a lot of soapies out there that polks say are a disaster, but they are actually very beautiful. Remember, there is no one right or wrong way to make soap (except aleays add lye to h2O and the lye liquid to the fats! LOL) When I make salt bars, I just dump all my salt in at trace and mix it up and mine have come out fine. Cut your bars and see what you end up with.

  10. I agree with soaping at cooler temps, but perhaps if you were willing to list the FO's someone could even tell you if it is a seizer and then you could try to tweak from there.

OR you could try pulling out your swirl soap before adding the colors, using less of your fragrance selection and swirling with unscented soap. No one will ever know that the swirls are unscented unless you choose to tell them.

Good lucj though and I hope you can work it out!

  11. Ok so I feel like a dummy, but are they REALLY 100% free? I saw that on their website and I thought I went to the wrong place! LOL :laugh2:

So for my swap that I am hosting, I can go pick up the boxes AND the prepaid lables all at the same time? That is so so SO awesome! I finally get it:yay: and I didn't even have to set the post office on fire! LOL:laugh2:

This thread was perfect timing for me! Thanks!

  12. After getting three to four emails like that daily for almost a year now, I kind of broke down last week and replied to one of them. I told them to go steal from someone else. Funny thing, I honestly haven't gotten any since then...Kinda makes you wonder.....

    LOL I probably jinxed myself!:lipsrseal
