Maybe someone should start a "sticky" for colorant-- I tried to get one going but it didn't go anywhere.

Oh, Oh just had a great idea -- after it cures take it around to some spa's in your area, they like muddy lookin stuff, their customers will gobble it up and tell them it's a limited supply and they will go even faster. :tiptoe:

Oh man Michi, you need one of these . When I first started reading I thought you could call it chocolate covered raspberries.
Yes you can get a nice purple color, you just gotta find the right ones ( both ultra marine violet and violet pearl mica gives a fantastic purple color) knew the manganese violet turned brown, wished you would of mentioned something.
Your not having worst luck you have having valuable lessons right now - ya know what, this is gonna be your best soap and in high demand and you aren't gonna be able to make it again:D

There are so many possibilities and recipes out there, it's too easy to get overwhelmed- recipes can be used a guidelines so don't be afraid to
sub one oil you don't have for one you do have. so have fun.

I think a couple things come into play here, - if you are using a pre made
base and just add fo/color IMO you can pour it right away. Whipped shea/butter usually go into "scoop" out jar so that is okay to pour right in the container, now for made from scratch lotions/creams that is a different story -- I like to let mine set on the counter at least over night as the consistency does change once it cools and sets up. I made a lotion once, I was pleased with the consistency so I put it in my tubes and the next morning it firmed up and I have a very hard time getting it out of the tube. JMO

Some say grapeseed oil has a short life while others say they have
not had any issues with it - if you have any doubts make up a little batch, to try the grapeseed and compare.

Anyone been playing with the mica's and oxides from the coop?
Today I tried the brown oxide and the copper mica, to early to tell
yet but they sure look pretty.
