  1. Wow! that is great news for me. As this is pretty much my first successfully wicked jar. So do you use the 2.5" Hex also. And if so do most of your Fo's work with this same wick and Jar. I have been at it for about a year now, and I have tried bulb jars/ tins and now the hex. The Hex is my first success, Yipeeeeeeeeee I did it. Next step try other Fo's with this wick. What other Jars do you use, that might be good for a beginner. Thank you so much, you reply has made my day. Suzie Q:yay:
  2. Hi Gals, I thought I would keep you posted. I tried the htp 105 and the cd 10 both had FMP and burned pretty much clean and beautiful all the way around. Neither one had much shrooming if any and no smoke or soot. Cold and Hot throw also very good (Ginger peach) However the flames in both flickered a bit. Is this due to the HxW space in the jar. Suz
  3. Hi Tootie, and Jeana. I am using Calwax cb3 . I have tried several different wicks and the one that has done the best so far is a cd18, however I think 2 of those would be a flame thrower. With the cd18 I had a complete mp with the exception of 1/4 to 1/16 of an inch hang up one side of the candle also there was very little mushroom if you could even call it that. Thanks; Suzie
  4. Thanks Tootie... I have a cd10 & htp105 Curing. I will keep you posted . Suz

  6. Hello, Friends:grin2: I am trying a new jar, it is a 2" hex and 2.5" @ it's widest point. It holds 5 oz and is 3" tall. I am using 100% soy from calwax. I was going to try the htp105/ or a cd10. Do you think these are to hot for the Dimensions? any suggestions. Suzie
  7. Hello:smiley2: Can someone possibly give me a starting point for double wicking the 9oz bulb jar from the Jar store and the 8 oz seamless tins. I have tried single wicking and it just doesn't work. I have tried many different wicks and just cant make it work in either container. If you can help me it would be such a blessing. I am getting so frustrated. I am fairly new to candle making, I have been at it for 1 year now. I understand the chemistry very well but the wicks are a-lot trickier. TIA Suz
  8. Hi there:cheesy2: I Have been Trying to wick the Jar store 9 oz bulb Jar and an 8 oz seamless travel tin. the Tin is 3" in diameter and the bulb jar is approx 3.25" in diameter. Is there anyone who has successfully wicked these containers with a single wick. I am not real fond of double wicking/ although I have not tried it. I just wish there was someone else who has had some success with Single wicking these containers. Who is willing to share their success. I am pretty new to the candle making business. I have been at it for about a year. I have tried HTP/CD/RRD - 60-44-18z and many more. I would love to hear from you. Suz
  9. Yes! on the west side, near Everett. Where are you? Suz
  10. Holly The sweating appears after the candle has been lit and there is a 1 -2" mp. I have had some sweating on un-lit candles in the past, and it feels a bit greasy when you touch it. Thanks: Sue BTW: I live in Lake Stevens WA
  11. Hi Holly:) Are you sure the FO wont burn off if I add it at 176* thnx Suz
  12. Hi there. I need a bit of help, I am currently using Calwax cb3 and I have been trying to scent 1lb of wax with 1.25 FO. I seem to always get sweating the sweating in my opinion is FO. I have tried different FO, but get the same result. Does anyone use this Soy wax and if so how much FO are you using pp of wax. I measure the FO with an electronic scale and a tall shot glass. Am I doing something wrong. 16x7.50%=1.2 FO.(7.5%) I am heating to 160* no dye* cooling to 125* add FO Stir for 1 min and pour into travel tins. could it be that the temp when adding FO is to low and it is not able to mix properly with the calwax. Please help if you Can. Suz
  13. Thanks Stella, I hve been wicking for the widest point of the jar which is 3.25" I have now tried cd18 and a RRD 65. The cd18 burned almost completely out to the edge of the jr in 3hrs, however I tht the flme was a little big. if I would have let it go1/2 hr longer it would have been a cmplt meltpool and clean. The 65 ws to big a flm and a little smoke. I think I am going to repour and wick down the cd18 to a cd16. I think this might work. I do keep track of the starting time of the test burn and allow them to burn for 3 hours. If they didn't burn all the way FMP out the frst burn or they only tunneled down then I adjust the wick. Should I do this or try burning a second time. It seem like if they tunnel more than .25 " I should wick up to get a better MP. Is this right? TIA Suz
  14. Hi jenny, I have burned the first few at-least four hours the first burn. second burn I relight and burn for atlest an hour if after an hour to hour and half if it hasn't moved out towards the edge, and has just burned down tunneling i blow out, and go back to the drawing board. I dont know maybe i am doing the testing all wrong. Ya think? suz
