  1. I hope the link works, http://www.candlewarmers.com/ProductDetail.aspx?Cat=59

Everybody in my town and the surrounding areas have my type of mason/canning jars and I want something new and different.

I'm in PA if that helps. I've searched and I've come up with nothing.

These jars are really lovely...and oh so hard to wick. If you look at the site ...they are wickless candles to be used with warmers.

  2. I have used SFIC for 7-8 years....and have never had any one, not my testers and certainly not my customers complain about dryness.

The only brand that Brambleberry mentions is Stephenson..every site I know of the sells SFIC...promotes the name with high visibility.

    Just my 2 cents.

  3. My experience has been...if you can smell them, the scent is evaporating. I store mine in glass, air tight containers and they remain just fine, some for well over a year or two! (The only one that has lost some fragrance is the one I used an EO to fragrance.) When I have stored them in plastic ziplock bags, they have lost their scent, or it has significantly weakened. They will last a little longer in polypro bags. HOwever, if you want to keep them the longest, I would go with glass and store in cool, dry place out of sunlight. ....And yes, I have dealt with the beads for years, too. HTH

    I agree!

Plastic, any type, will eventually absorb the scent, thereby weakening the aroma of the beads.

  4. I have never kept them in plastic....I keep them in glass jars....and refill from there I have never had to refresh them.

I too have been making them for several years. Most I have had them is about 5-6 months.

  5. Very Nice!!! I have been looking for some baskets like those...mind to share your secret of where you got them? :tiptoe:

    They are simple and lovely.

Not sure if they came from the Dollar Tree (probably not) but Dollar Tree has some that look very similar.

  6. Georgia, I am sure there are many ways to elevate the Presto Pot. My concern would be for safety and would want to make sure that any stand was secure, strong and stable. You also need to be sure it could withstand some heat....the element on the bottom of the pot gets pretty hot.

  7. Hi, I use KY 125 and I wait until it starts to get thick before I pour. I let them cure for about a week.hth

I also use KY 125 I do let it get to the "slushy" stage...but I also heat my containers. I know all instructions say it isn't necessary.....but it works for me. I also let my candles cure for a least a week. This wax has a great hot or cold throw.

  8. My mistake about the 1/4 ounce. Peacola, you are correct about the container...it is a Libby small Votive container. Georgia is also correct in that you really must weigh your wax and your fragrance. Having said that, I am still correct in that you want to pour several at a time...weigh a pound of wax and add 1 ounce of FO...or weigh out 1/2 lb of wax and use 1/2 ounce or FO.. These are samplers.....you do not need to fill them completely to the .875...fill it with .50. Now you didn't say whether or not you are charging for these or if you are wicking them???? I guess my assumption, and you know what the say about assumptions, were that you were make them as scent samplers.

    I hope this helps!

  9. I prefer SFCI and Stephenson.....SFIC Goats Milk is fantastic. I have been making M&P for 8 years or more SFIC handles all additions. I have just tried Stephenson because it is less expensive, I have used the clear, suspension and the Shea butter so far so good.

  10. Just a note on Presto Pots....I have used mine for 10 years or more...love it...wouldn't use anything else. My only problem with it was filling my pour pots...so my husband made me these stands. He put small grooves in them for the feet of the pot...wont slip and I can put my pour pots under it.

    Works for me!

    PS

If you have a handy husband, brother or friend....or maybe you are handy yourself, here are the instructions to place the spigot.

  11. Just get the word out....I started with home parties...still do them. I do craft shows...not flea markets. I don't have a website...because I just didn't want to get involved with shipping and handling and credit cards and Pay-Pal. I have created a brochure much like an Avon Lady...I leave them in my doctors, dentists and friends offices also at my hairdressers. Personally I have found that people like to buy from locals face to face.

I have been making candles for 30 years and Tarts for about 7 years. Most of my business is repeat customers that know my product.

  12. Are you saying that you are trying to make individual samplers..by pouring them individually:confused:     .

The sampler jars are 1/2 oz. each, if you are making them as samplers for your customers try pouring 5 oz. of wax at a time,

that will make 10 samples using 1/4 oz. FO per 5 oz. wax.

This is based on 1 oz. FO per pound of wax. One pound of wax melted equals 20 oz. liquid.
