I can't believe I missed seeing these. They're gorgeous soaps!
-
I made mine several months ago. I ended up rebatching it because it was so ugly. The only scent I added was some tea tree oil. It stunk to high heaven, was nearly black and took quite a while to cure to a hard bar. It has mellowed nicely though. I took a bar with me to the shower this morning, and I really do like it.

I had the same thing happen to me. I figured it was just me, but I had printed them and they were identical recipes, oils, percentages, discounts. I ran it again and went with the one that matched.

That's so pretty. She did good.

Fantastic looking soaps, especially for your first attempts!

Wowza! That's some gorgeous soap!

I made these two last friday and saturday. The dark was supposed to be a coffee scent, Turkish Mocha (BB), but is smells way more chocolate than coffee. Since searching here, I now see that that's pretty common. It's okay though because it's a really good chocolate smell. I think that I might see about getting a straight coffee fragrance and then trying to do a layered soap using both.
The second soap reminds me of spring. It's scented with EO's and has a citrus - minty smell.
I used kaolin clay in both of these as well as 5% soy wax and they both are creamy and lather really well. I can't wait to see how they do when they've cured.
As always, opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Your colors look great. I bet they smell wonderful as well.

'Cosmic Blue', 'Out of the Blue'... I don't have a clue how you got this look, but I love it!

I made round soaps yesterday (first time) and used 3" PVC. It worked great. Well except for the huge mess but that was my fault.

I think that it looks tropical and very pretty.

The color is beautiful.

That is a very neat looking soap. I can't comment on the fragrance, but soap sure looks nice.

After reading all the good things said here about the KD7000 and Old Will's, I ordered the scale on wednesday and it arrived here on thursday. Old Will's is in OK and I'm in KS, but still, that's faster than I expected. The scale is sooooo much better than the piece of junk I was using! I especially like that you can program it to not automatically shut off, and that it measures in 1 gm increments.

Stunning soaps!! The first one looks very elegant.

I'm curious why someone would want this smell in a candle? I can see it in a spray for hunting purposes, but in a candle?...
I've never smelled deer pee, and I don't think that I want to after reading this.

SCARY!! I'm glad no one got hurt.

Your soaps look really nice. You done good.
I think it's fine to add your FO when you did, as long as the oils are not real hot. I've been adding mine to the oils when I blend just so I don't forget to add it.

Rough? You're kidding right? These are beautiful! I imagine they smell as wonderful as they look.

A bit off the topic, but I'm curious about the Sanguigno Orange and a regular Orange. What's the difference in the two?

There are very pretty, such a nice variety too.

I didn't use much at all, probably just 1 to 1 1/2 tsp for a 4 lb batch.

I wouldn't think that putting poppy seeds in soap would affect a drug test. I'm a nurse as well and have a stash of poppy seeds that I plan to use in soap.
I did add some ground apricot seeds to a batch I made recently and they are not scratchy at all. They came as a free sample from Brambleberry I think and they are ground pretty fine.
Do you ever find the perfect soap recipe??
