I just took a ride out to BCN on Friday afternoon! (its about a 3 hr drive). I didnt buy much, but really needed the stuff fast and they said they would be an extra 2 day delay on shipments right now because they are swamped with orders (busy season for us candle and soap makers). I couldnt wait for the order to ship on Monday and not get it until Tuesday so I went and got it. Just so you know, they are really fast on shipping, but about 2 day in house for packing.

I think the name is cool and I would look just to find out what it smells like but my opinion (for what it's worth) is maybe call it something like Exotic Gems and Gold - Our version of Padparadscha or ®.

Don't assume the other people you live with will check the oven before preheating it to 400* when you have molds in there.
Don't use a glass thermometer to stir things.
My family should know by now that the oven is for candle molds first and for food second!!!
I second that a glass thermometer is not meant to stir things. Also, dont drop them or knock them off the counter. I have just broken my 5th one
......argghhh As of tomorrow I am strictly a digital thermometer girl!!:smiley2:

IMO hands down it has to be Bitter Creek North! I have a few different spiced cranberries and BCN's is by far the best.

I clicked on the link you provided and it came up with the search page for QVC. I think the link is incorrect.

I was roaming around on ebay and saw this. I would like to try dipping bears, but dont need this many. I thought maybe one of you seasoned dippers may want to purchase them.

I do a consignment with a state park in the area and it went very well, Its just a summer consignment because its in a tourist area, but heck, I sold quite a bit to them with private labels that reflected the place it is at (old military fort from the 1800's).
I figured since it was just for 4 months I would try it. If nothing else, it wouldnt be forever.......and it was worth the chance.
What I did is told them what I had to get for the candles (wholesale cost) and she added her profit in after.

Just wanted to let you all know that on Sept. 10th I flew back from a trip to NYC and they would not allow my husband to take his visine on the plane. Also, the lady ahead of us had a liquid lip gloss that they threw away. She was ticked cuz she paid a lot for it.
Just wanted to say that the airplane rules for in the passenger section of the plane there are no liquids allowed to be brought on, I dont know about the luggage area for items like FO, but they didnt say anything about the shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc in my stowed luggage.
HTH someone!

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can fine one or two of these. They are the ones with the nipple-type top!

I only use one wick for the 16 ounce apothecary jar. I use a 51 or 60 zinc depending on the fo.
I wanted to add that I am not an expert or even close at the apoth. jars since I am just starting them myself, but I can say that I dont think you need to double wick them, JMO

What I do is total all my supplies used to make the candle (including the container) then multiply that by 4. If I think those in my market will not pay that amount I will go down to x 3.5 or have even gone down to x3. If I have to go lower than that for it to be sellable, I dont sell it.

Im pretty sure that it is a different Flicker. This one is in a different state than the Flicker from BCN.

I found three of the same buckets at our local Good Will store. Paid $1.29 each for them. They are still brand new with labels on them

I only have two small wholesale accounts but what I do is figure my cost to make the candle and double that. For example, it costs me $2.00 to make an 8 ounce jelly jar candle. I charge $4.00 for wholesale and $6.00 for retail. Other items I get more for retail but always double my cost for wholesale and round to nearest quarter.

I dont think this is the right area to post this. I would try the general candlemaking section.

I got curious after reading your post and did some searching online and found this place ~~ i-matchbook.com
They have 2500 of the 20 matches/book for $57. Seemed like a good price. Check them out.

Does anyone know what type of label, if any, will stick right to a paraffin candle? I need some small (address label sized) for new baby hand-outs for a soon-to-be-grandma.
We only have a walmart and an office max here.

If you do not want a floral, you could use JS Pink Grapefruit. I just received a sample of it from a sale on the classifieds and think it is very fresh and clean.

I am very glad to hear that because I was banned from purchasing from her.......lol :laugh2:
A while back I purchased from her ebay store and left her negative feedback cuz it took FOREVER to get what I ordered so she banned me.
I liked the oils I got, so Im glad I will be able to get them again.
