  1. I meant after they are wrapped does the fo. hold up? Pat

Yes they will hold up, if it's wrapped up. But say in 4 months after you dipped and wrapped them up, and you're going to sell it like at a show or to customer, I would open the bag up for inspection to see if it still smells good etc. If not, fluff it up with a blow dryer and spray it with your f/o spray.

That's what I did when I used to dip bears and bag them up.

I also included a tiny 1oz bottle of f/o with the bears so the customers can freshen them up from time to time.

  2. Here's a tip for printing labels.

Before printing on actual labels, print on typing paper and then put it against your label and light or window, see if it lines up. This way you will not waste labels sheets. It took me long time to get everything figured out. I also use Avery Design pro, it's free program and I try to stay with label template that are in Avery program. I stay away from oval, and odd sizes LOL

They can be PITA to do.

    Hope that helps.

  3. Hi there, I'm making 8ml sprayer cologne for this boy he's 12 years old

and I need help with labeling name. What should I call it??

    I'm drawing a blank. I have 3 scents I'd like to pour

    Black Code

    Albecrombie and Fitch (spelling?)

    Weekend Burberry Type

Anyhow, I'm meeting him today and his dad was killed over in Iraq last year

and I guess he's difficult to get along with cause of what happened.

Anyhow, I thought I'd cheer him up with few goodies and I need like

a good line for this product.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks

  4. I would definitely try different wood, to lower the cost. That is very adorable chair. Also try going to furniture stores that carries oak or good quality wood furniture store and see if they'll carry it or buy it wholesale or something.

But try different wood that is not to costly. Check out lumber yard, sometime

they have scrap wood in bin where it's cheap and I'm pretty sure he can improvise with it to add to the chair.

Best Wishes. Tell Brother not to give up, he does great work there. Great Talent and most of all PATIENCE. LOL Just make change of plan on wood and it'll be well sold.

I have been to many craft fairs and there's always parents buying nice chairs for kids that's around $50.00 to $75.00 tops.

Keep us updated on what he does to ok

  5. You're not gonna get vibrant colors with the opaque base because of the whitener used to make it white. Most colors will turn out a pastel shade. But you can get some really nice, bright colors in clear mp base.

Ditto, Believe me, I tried it all, With white soap base MP

it's hard to get that dark vibrant colors. So I chose to use clear soap base and get the vibrant colors and this is using mp soap colorant or Micas and I really like using micas since it's more color choices and shimmering to me at least. LOL

and it totally smells just like the box of cereal!!

I made some with MP soap and it's super strong. Yes I agree, Going to have to cut back in amount just like Funflames said, It's super strong.

I love em and so does the Kids.

  7. Ok so I have now done three pillars - all of which are disasters.

So now I am looking for some tips:

What causes the little bubble marks on the surface of the candle? You may be pouring to cool, I pour at 150-155 temp. also you need to tap the mold after pouring to rid of bubbles and also on layers I take a poker and remove the bubbles.

Any tips for cleaning molds, pots, boilers etc - at the moment its lots of kitchen towel and heat. use paper towels, I use pyrex measuring cups

easier to clean out in my opinion.

Looked at the tutorial for "pushing" the layers in order to create a wave effect. My first layer was a fudge brown colour - now I wouldnt have said the wax was pliable - kind of hard around the edges and still very gooey in the centre. Once pushed some of the wax turned a kind of yellowy green? Any ideas. not sure on this one, I only do Rustic layered pillars. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Also I am from the UK. I can find lots of suppliers in the US but hardly any in the UK. Aso this is the only website I have found with online tutorials, How To's etc. If anyone could me out here I would be grateful. My current supplier only has a few scents, and uses solid dyes - which at the moment I aint getting on too well with. There's lots of great suppliers in US for supplies. I use liquid dyes for my rustic, which is much easier to use than solid dyes. Many fragrance suppliers here also.

    Anyone with advice.

I have only done rustics for while, but I'm far from an Expert yet.

But these are good tips I got from one of my best tutor and many posts from others on here.

Practice makes perfect. It'll take time and others will chime in with their best tips and opinions to.

    It's addicting and fun.
