  1. Ok, here is your hint......... seek and ye shall find [description links] lol
  2. UMMM, for me? A diet Pepsi or a diet Dew:bliss: See, look at all my energy from the caffeine - yeah baby LOL
  3. Yeah thank goodness! We won the first sectional game tonight. The boy needs 2 more TD's now to set new school record and about 100 more yards to set that new record. Hoping they both happen next week Tomorrow I get to play with all my new smellies I actually look forward to getting up tomorrow since its not a work day and I can do what I love!!
  4. At the risk of sounding stupid, isn't that also what people use to make perfume and body sprays with? Is it an oil base product? Would have to be wouldn't it? Unless it has an emulsifier in it or something.
  5. I can't tell you what they cut them with, but I am guessing it is probably the cheapest oil they can find. You have to watch who you buy from on ebay, I have heard horror stories. I would file against her with ebay and paypal, hopefully you used paypal. If she is no longer a member, you will probably be awarded your money back with no problem!!!
  6. Not sure yet - I just finished the brochure project and its out to print. Will be heading south west first to OK, AR, and TX - so the KY trip will be after that. I am guessing it will be late in the month. Just out of curiosity, Is anyone on the board close to Conway AR - Tulsa OK - or Dallas TX?
  7. Oops - can't spell tonight lol
  8. I can't say I have ever had bad service from C&S or any other place. I guess I was always lucky. Have had the candle shop from C&S and it threw great in my soy. It is a mix of alot of stuff, but the one scent that stood out like a sore thumg was patchouli. I don't like patchouli, but the scent wouldn't have been the same without it!
  9. I second that. I think we live in the best country in the world - but our government stinks. They are all a bunch of crooks! Enough said on that, cause I could bash the gov all day As for lab classes - didn't need em and still don't. I'll stick to my Betty Crocker class on measuring 101:laugh2: Well I have about 200 FULL bottles of oil to pour, so I need to get on it and stop debating. Boy you sure know how to start em Leisa lol
  10. Leisa - STOP THE MADNESS lol As tho our heads aren't messed up enough:confused: Fluids should be measured in fluid ounces, that is why they are called fluid ounces. Dry & solids are measured by weight. We all learned that in school. As far as US system vs the rest of the world - we are right and they are wrong and that's all there is to it LOLOLOLOL I like to think of it that way anyway:D Everyone knows that we are stuck in our ways here and we like it that way. We are all going to have a preference to something. To me, more is better and I prefer full bottles and the easiest method of doing things. Doesn't make me wrong, just short on time. I can get far more done in a day if I don't worry about every little pee picking thing. Sometimes being precise is vital and sometimes it's not. Wouldn't want to go to a brain surgeon who takes the quickest route *faint* Guess that's why I'm not a brain surgeon LOL Loved the piñata icon by the way!!!
  11. You can still weigh out what you need if your bottle is full vs partially full. The fact that the bottle is filled shoud not prevent you from measuring out what you need. Just means you have more oil and can get more candles out of it:D Bren31, altho technically it is suppose to be added by weight, I have never ever weighed my oil, always used a shot glass too and adjusted accordingly depending on the heaviness of the oil. My candles always turn out great. I do not have time nor patience for preciseness. Guess that is why I always kept fresh water fish and not salt LOL HeavenscentU, if I were to take an 8oz bottle of my creme brulee and fill by weight, it would only be about 3/4 full. In turn I could take and pour that into 8 - 1oz bottles, and altho they may be 1oz by weight, they too would only be about 3/4 full. Hang me up and beat me like a piñata gals, but a full bottle just gives you more for your money which means you will get more candles out of a bottle if you go by weight when you make your candles. I would be ashamed to send out a 3/4 full bottle. And back to the original post about weighing. Yes, when I received bottles that were less then filled, you bet your booty I would weigh them to make sure they were not cheating on weight. I still felt cheated, but as long as they weighed out, I knew tachnically in the world of candle making, that I was not being cheated as much as I didn't like it. I would think the suppliers would have as much money tied up in labor costs at taking the time to weigh out each scent exactly as they would if they just filled the bottles. Would take me at least 5 times longer to pour if not more. Maybe some suppliers have figured that out and that is why some just take the fast route of filling the bottles!
  12. You all are far more understanding then I am about this whole weight thing. I am quite sure that I am not the only one who was taught in school that liquids are measured in fluid ounces!!! Nothing use to make me feel more robbed then to get my oil orders in and find them an inch or more down from the top!! Now there are suppliers out there that don't go by the weight thing - SOS being one right off the top of my head and I say Kudos to them!!! Well, at least they use to always fill the bottles, guess I haven't ordered from them in a couple of years tho. When I get in a 35 lb drum of oil and its a heavier oil, I may only get 28 16oz bottles out of it, but I would rather do that then ever send out a bottle that looks like the ones I have received from some of the big suppliers. I do know that there was a supplier, I beleive they were located in Ohio and I think they were bought by ICS. They calculated the weight of the bottle in with the 16oz, but they were up front about it and it stated it right there for you to see. Didn't make it right, but at least they were honest about it. Now dealing with manufacturers, I can tell you that the whole selling by weight starts there with them and if you think they sell the oils for dirt cheap like I use to think, that is wrong. They aren't cheap, but I can guarentee you that the supply houses are making a darn good profit too. Imagine how we would complain if gasoline ever became as expensive as fragrance oil. We would be paying about $130 a gallon That really puts things into perspective doesn't it LOL
  13. I have the candle itch, so I am hoping to steal several hours this weekend and pour. It's been a couple of months since I last had the chance. Yes, I know what your area is like. Similar to mine, but you all talk funny and we don't LOLOLOL I just got off the phone with my girl from Fancy Farm and told her I would see them all soon! Maybe if you aren't working on the Friday I am there, we can have lunch in Hoptown!
  14. I am still trying to figure out what the bull and the cow were doing Were they making candles?
  15. Here I am again - typing along with you silly girls instead of working LOL I guess you all are my escape from the madness here. At least you all think I'm nice. If you ask all these men that I have to work with, they may tell you something totally different. I am mean to them - but they ask for it
  16. Judy: I have to tell you that I am very jealous of you - all of you as far as that goes. You see, I go on quite a few business trips for work. I have been within miles of so many supply houses that it isn't even funny. By the way, I am only 90 minutes north of Indy Anyway, once upon a time when I use to have the tiime to make a lot of candles, I had hundreds of different scents in my scent cupboards. And since I do nothing in moderation, they were all 16oz and 32oz size. I remember how exciting it would be waiting on scents to arrive and sniffing them and wishing one could drink them LOL I know I could spend all day walking around some of these places and sniffing scent after scent if I could. but those days are gone, at least for now, but I have not forgotten how much fun they were - and expensive LOL In October I will be making a trip to Conway Arkansas, OK City & Tulsa, Longview and Dallas Texas. After that I will be in TN and Western KY and last but not least, a tour of Ohio and then who knows where. I know I will be close to more then a few supply houses, and who knows, I may just be able to sneak one in LOL Now I have the itch to make candles and its 10:30 at night. Maybe this weekend I will be able to steal a few hours. Keep your fingers crossed for me girls!! ha
  17. I have emailed them at the address someone listed, so now it is wait and see. Then the hard part. Figuring out how to do whatever needs to be done if I have to do something LOL PS - new scents in today and another on Friday Bert
  18. How do I do that - I am stupid at this, remember! lol You have to give me instructions on finding her.
  19. Hi Everyone! I have joined your board, but don't know the first thing about what I am doing, so I hope this works [advertisment removed] Anyway, as soon as I get some free time (boy isn't that a laugh) Judy USMC is going to try to teach me how to use this site. She will need a lot of luck, as I am still not seeing the PM block/link she is trying to describe to me lol Anyway - nice to meet you all:p Bert
