  1. Someone else mentioned this, but change your password... frequently. This sounds to me as a really odd case and there's something fishy about it. Especially that your bank knows that it's fraudulent...I'd be talking to my bank first about how they know and if they've got inside info on how it could happen to help you better figure out what options to take. But, definately change your password. Use uppercase and numbers for better security. Sorry this has happened, I'd be soooooo mad!

  2. Hey, thanks everyone! I like em too. :) As for the holder, I have yet to get any to test out. I've seen some square shaped ones, but I'm still doing price shopping to find my best deal. I got so excited after seeing the molds, I just had to make some!

  3. Wow you're quick! :) I don't mind sharing at all!

I got these at Candlewic. They've been the cheapest I've found yet to get square votives (trying to with square theme in my candle products). :) What I love about these molds is that there is hardly any cleanup! I've used the 15 hour votive molds before and they're such a pain as I get rust spots even if I feel I've dried them well!

  4. I tried my hand at a scent combination as well as more than one color votives. I'm posting my results. As for the 'brown' on the bottom, I was looking for a more chocolate color, but LOVE how this turned out. I don't know if I could duplicate it again as I was adding bits of color and still wasn't too happy letting it cool when I thought it would turn out too red. In any case, here they be!

The first is a closeup of the pattern and color and the other is my little batch I made.

  5. I just ordered this HUGE supply of wicks and found that they bend REAL easy when I insert them into my palm wax (heated to almost 200 degrees). The description for the wax that I got (astorlite F) was to heat to 140-160, but after reading everyone heats much higher, I've gone higher. My problem is I got my wicks based on the lower heating. What wicks do you votive users use for palm? I have tried zinc and like them because they stay straight but I want to use cotton wicks if possible.

  6. HAHAHAHA! Brown is the worst color for me to get right! I'm trying tonight actually and it's more red than brown. argh. I did the orange and purple together, then realized the purple was too light, so I added some black... still red looking, so I added MORE black and the color is.. well... I don't even know what it would be called. Let's hope it looks better out of the mold than it does right now!

Speaking of which... do you use liquid colors? And is there an index for all the abbreviations you girls/guys use? I have no idea what a DH is or BCS or NG! Shed some light pweeeety pwease? :D

  7. Okay, normally it takes me one pound of wax to make eight 15-hour votives. I got these really cute square seamless votive molds and they clearly take more wax. I'm not one for melting more than I need. Anyone have any idea about how many pounds (ounces) it takes to fill 8 square votives? I could have sworn I saw a site that said they were 3.2 ounces or maybe it was 2.3 ounces each. 3.2 sounds right, but not sure... would love someone who's worked with these to help out. I've tried searching and all I can find are people selling the darn things! haha Thanks in advance!

  8. Very very interesting read. I haven't even tried to burn my votives I made the other day. I'm a bit scared now that I've read the responses in here. haha

I'm about to make a new batch. Going to try the tapping bubbles out method and see where that takes me. Was going to do 2 lbs at once, but I'm going to stick with 1 lb as to not overwhelm myself. :) I'll be back with results later!

  9. I just got these from Candlewic and they're just awesome! Anyhow, does anyone happen to know how much wax I'd need to melt in order to fill 8 of these? I've used the standard 15 hour votive molds before and to get 8 I melt 1 lb of wax. When I do so with the square ones, I get 5 full ones if I want to be able to have a little for a re-pour (I'm using palm wax). I don't want to waste any wax, so this has been a bit of a bother for me.

  10. I'm using Astorlite F palm wax and the color is dark in my melting pot, but when I pour and it hardens, it gets SO light! The crystal effect is beautiful, but I want a distinct color difference like I see in a lot of other candles online. How much color block would you put in for a batch of 8 votives? (1 lb of wax)

Also, even though I poke holes near the wick, I still get small holes that appear on the candle top. What's going on?

    I hope someone can help.

  11. With the border -- more eyecatching as everyone else has said. Are you printing your labels yourself? If you're printing on clear labels to begin with, I'm not so sure that them being absolutely perfectly aligned will make much difference, let alone anyone take notice. ;) But, being a perfectionist myself, I can definately see your point.
