Yes the fragrance will hold up, I've been buring 3 oz for over two weeks straight and I'm still gettting about a 2100 sqft scent throw. I used to turn it on during the day and off at night, I'd get at least a month out of 3 oz about 8 hours daily, so about 240 some hours from only 3 oz! I'm just using a cheapo Wal-mart simmer pot.

Levines has replacement bowls for a different warmer, it's smaller but deep. It's from the iron and ceramic tealight warmer. I think I also saw bowls from candlesandsupplies.

Stella what's a water table?

Water under the ground surface. If I remember correctly down there in the South the water table is so high, if they dug a 6 ft grave, it would fill with water, that's why they use crypts. If you've ever dug a hole and had it fill up with water, you hit the water table, like quarrys they dig only as far down as they can when they hit water it gets turned into a lake. Some areas of the country have high water tables, like in the south were there is more rain and humidity. Areas like the desert it's something like 600-800 ft before you'd hit the water table.

I like Pier 1's Ginger Peach, too, but it had almost no throw at all when I burned it. I was testing Candle Cocoon's Ginger Peach at the same time I bought Pier 1's GP. It's not exactly the same, but in case you can't find a dupe, you might want to try it. It's a good scent, and has a great throw in paraffin.

I don't think any of Pier 1's candles have good throws, it seems to me they make an unscented candle and then over dip with scented wax. They smell great cold and that's it.

Ohhh..another thing..I've burned one for over a month now and the fo is fading but the wax is still there..don't look like it's gone anywhere,lol. Does it EVER go away??

No the wax never goes away, it never gets hot enough to make it burn up and get consumed. Here in the land of recycling and tree hugging, Portland, people have a very hard time with the idea of this, but then they also think burning candles is like second hand smoke. The glass gets recycled and the melted wax gets thrown away, I've seen some sites that say once the scent is gone throw the whole thing in the garbage! The melted wax could be poured into another container and used to lightly scent a closet or drawers or something. I don't usually throw the wax away, I find another use for it but not in the pour pot.

I was wondering if they make plastic cups for votives? Like the plastic tea light cup, just bigger for votives? Or would the larger size get too hot for plastic? Any suppliers, I searched around, all I found was some at Candlewic but it was a plastic mold not a cup. Or even aluminum cups for votives? I'm not looking for a mold, just something I can pour into that also serves as the holder as well.

Ginger peach, same here I've been looking and looking for a good dupe, I've tested so many. A few years back I posted the same question, then the consensus was Fragrance oil Heaven had the best, just checked and I don’t see that they still carry it, never tested it. WSP, no go for me I think a monkey could have done a better job, they should take TYPE off it, it may be a ginger peach but it is not Pier 1 Ginger Peach. Peak doesn’t say it’s a type so I don’t know how close it is. Good luck, if you find a good one PLEASE post it! I have 1lb ginger peach in each if you're interested from Lebermuth, WSP, & Swans, but none of them are dupes.

Are you doing pillars or containers? I have found a few container manufactures blends I think are good Calwax 130 and IGI 6006. 6006 is really sticky to work with, cw130 isn't as soft and less messy. Might save you the headache of blending your own. There are a lot of posts here about blending just page through the past post, lots of info just in the last month!

I was thinking of some kraft bands to go around them. Does anyone know where to find these or have any other ideas for packaging?

Along the lines of craft bands, what about corrugated cardboard band? Just cut a piece long enough to go around candle + a few more inches. Cut each end half way and slide the ends up into each other to make a band push candle in, kind of like the bands on Starbucks coffee??

I finally received a large order for my feather plam wax pillars. Going into a very high end Western decor store. Need to find a really nice way to package them (no shrink wrap though). I was thinking of some kraft bands to go around them. Does anyone know where to find these or have any other ideas for packaging?

I really like RA, getting the oils is a long process. You have to understand that your oils are made to order! Unlike other suppliers who have barrels of scents on hand, RA makes each one at a time, this ensures that you get the FRESHEST FO. So the long wait is a good thing, as long as you keep up with your supply!

I test in my basement, just guessing you don't have one. Stays cooler down there, I too HATE hot weather. Been in Portland a year now and it's heaven compaired to living in hot dry dirty dusty Riverside CA. It's been cool (high of 68) here today and the next few days, I'd imagine you'll be getting that cold front soon. Maybe test then?

For those of you who print your own labels on your candles, which type of printer do you use?

I use a Xerox Phaser 8550 DP I got half off earlier this year before the new models came out, got it at CompUSA before they went under so it was half off being last years model plus another 30% for going out of business. If you want a deal the way to go is getting a model right before the new ones come out! I’ve found the quality and cost per printed page is way cheaper with Laser than ink-jet. Laser paper is really cheap from online suppliers plus lots offer free shipping, way cheaper than big box stores like Staples. Plus I found CostCo.com has the cheapest ink if they have your cartridge, not much variety in store.
