Yes Thank God for this forum! I am a seasoned candle maker but I decided to try the palm wax which is new for me and I have learned so much here! You guys are awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even the newbies!!!!!!!!!!
-
I used the CSN's, LX's and RRD's (Wedo)
-
that with the coreless wicks, when you blow out the candle, you don't get that yucky sooty burnt smell???? and you get the fragrance smell coming up instead? I love it!!!!!!!!!!!! .............just wondering if anyone has noticed it?:rolleyes2

Wow! that is good! Anne! I couldn't get my LX's to work on any size jar, I ordered both from Candle and supplies too! The cold throw was magnificent but the hot throw you can bearly smell it!
I ordered the RRD's and the CSN's and will be testing them in containers this week.
I poured 2 votives (Baby Powder scent) put each one in and test burned them,
The RRD did the best so I am using them in votives, definitely good hot scent throw!
and now I need to test them in containers!
Wish me luck!!!!!!
Maybe you can rub off on me and mine will do good!!!!!!!!!

Royal Aromatics also has a lot of fo's and eo's. Large selection.
Oh yes I forgot about them Thanks Sheila!!!!!

Does anyone know of one? The largest the scent selection the better! I looked through the links of suppliers (the abbreviations list) and couldn't find one that carried a lot of scents. Or if they did have a lot of scents they seemed not to have a lot of designer type FO's.
(I am already aware of Save On Scents - but they make me nervous because they don't list thier FO's as being "skin safe" or not.)
PM me with your suggestions or reply to the thread! I'm desparate!
Hi You have your PM turned off so I couldn't send ya a private email
Save on Scents is excellent on both candle and bath and body products! I am an old customer of theirs and love thier FO's They have over 1,500. They do have MSDS sheets and list all of the info for both!
By the way, I buy from 15 FO's suppliers, have been for the last 10 years.

Hi and welcome. Candle making like soap making can be very addictive.
To start with, I suggest buying a kit. I started with a container kit. Just pick a supplier who is close to you and go for it.
Some of your fragrance oils will probably work with candles. They should either say on the bottle or the suppliers website.
Votives are not easy. 3x4 pillars are easier for me.
I started with soy...you need to figure out what brand you want to buy. Then after I got it figured out, I went to palm. I really like the palm wax.
Now I am working on gel wax.
Just pick a starting project...get it down...then move on.
That is a good suggestion! Fortunely my hubby is a candlemaker and I learned from him but he didn't want to make the type of candles that I wanted to sell in my gift shoppe! I LOVE novelty candles and he didn't want to make those so I fired him!!!!!! Then I did a lot of research and searched the web on making novelty candles and with my vivid imagination, along with a lot of trial and error and eventually got my niche down pat.
Unfortunately pariffin and soy blends gave me migraines (melting it) and I had to quit! but I eventually came across palm wax and love it!
So now I am contemplating how to make novelty candles out of this wax.
Some new looks like no other!!!!!
I tell people to go buy a candlemaking kit at AC Moore's or Michaeal's around $24.99 to $34.99 and try it before you pay $100's of dollars for supplies from these suppliers online! Cause you may find out that candlemaking is not for you and you are stuck with $100's of supplies.

Unfortunately I got it from it Candles and Supplies before I even knew about Candle Science website. They are in Durham about an 1 1/2 hours from me!
I ordered their CSN wicks, cause they state they made them just for palm wax......let's see if that will do the trick! Keep your fingers crossed!!!!!
Plus CS is sold out on the palm wax I want to buy!!!!!!!!!!! Boo hoo!!!!!
All of my FO's are both candle & B&B safe
Thanks Guys!!!!! I appreciate the advice and comments!
I promised myself I would not lose my salvation over this!
I quit making candles years ago cause of the paraffin and soy blends gave me vicious migraines and so far I haven't encountered any headahces from melting this palm wax! I am wondering how Mia Bella gets thier fragrances to smell as good! they claim they buy their ingredients from the American Farmers.
thanks again!!!!!!!!

okay I ordered the CSN wicks and I am gonna try those, since I haven't gotten a response! I need to do something cause I refuse to order more FO's.
-
Thanks ladies!!!!!!!! I didn't want to think I was crazy enough to try it!
Mine turned out wonderful, could be more fragrancey though!!!!

Okay I ordered the Crystal Pillar and container palm Wax. Is there something I can do to get my fragrances to smell stronger in this wax (other than the wicking issue and adding more than the 6%)? I carry over 250 fragrances for my products (Incense, burning oils and B& and really don't want to buy anymore oils, cause I want to offer this wax candle in that many fragrances! I have them so why should I buy more? KWIM? Is there a modifier I can add to my fragrance oils to make them work in this wax?
thanks for the advice! this wax is new to me and I don't like paraffin or soy wax.
