  1. I also use GL's 70/30 and I don't have any problems with that much shrinkage. In fact, I don't have any shrinkage at all. Are you pouring them in a really cold room?? I know that I read on here one time to get rid of wet spots, some people put the candles in a refrigerator so that the wax will pull away from the sides???

Okay...what I would do next is call GL and ask them about your batch of wax. Maybe they can help.

    HTH,

  2. Bert, people are funny ... I've read some interesting reactions about your higher prices, and I've also read posts questioning how your prices can be so low. Everyone has an opinion, including me ... so, here's my :2cents:

I think you're higher prices are still very low ... and, you have some great oils along with awesome customer service ... you deserve to make a profit. :highfive:

    Exactlyyyyyyyyyyyy, my thoughts.

  3. Boy yall are good!! So creative with the names... I am so air headed these days I forgot I even posted this on here till someone pm'ed me with a western website. My home computer is in the hospital so I have to sneak on at work, lol

I really haven't picked out any particular scents yet as this is in the very beginning stages.

I LOVE all of your suggestions and thank you tremendously!

  4. Just wanted to share my figuring on Bert's prices. My average cost per ounce WITH shipping was 84 cents per ounce.:yay: Ummmmm..... could someone pinch me please :shocked2: because I must be dreamin'.

    I ordered:

    Christmas Pear

    Andes Mint

    Evergreen

    Old Fashioned Sugar Cookie

    Pumpkin Custard Spice

    Black Raspberry Vanilla

    Angel Type

I've only poured the Pumpkin one so far and waiting on the cure...ewww I hate the waiting. I don't have one complaint on the ones I haven't poured yet. If they are only half as good in my wax as they smell still in the bottle, my pocketbook is in BIG trouble and I mean BIG. And Bert, you will get tired of hearing me say this... THX!

    Just thought I'd share,

    Chantel

  5. No sarcasm. You bolded words first.

I'm sorry Scented. I didn't mean anything ugly by bolding my words. I was just emphasizing that I do test. I'm one of those people that talks with my hands. I've been told I'm a tad bit dramatic....LOL. :rolleyes2

  6. I think your candles look great but, I do suggest to crop your pictures so that when you are fitting them on you label they are not stretched. It may just be the pic that you uploaded but it looks as if the lime is stretched vertically. Are you printing your own labels?

Well, I know what you are talking about. That is the way the lime was in the original pic. Kinda oblong...LOL! Trying to find a pic with both cilantro AND citrus was not easy, whew!

Yes, I am printing my own labels. It's funny... I enjoy making the labels more than making the candle. Go figure. I get excited about new fragrances I order but not near as excited trying to find just the right pic to design my label!!

  7. SIMPLY relating to YOU what MY EXPERIENCE was in DOING the SAME thing.

Let's hope two tests were enough.

Wow! Why the sarcasm? I was just sharing with you how my tests went and letting you know (since you were concerned) that my shells did not burn. Maybe the ones you used had something on them that the company treated them with??? I don't know. How many tests would I need to do considering I literally tried to catch them on fire by using a direct flame? When is enough enough???

  8. Aside from the name, my concern is if those are real shells, they do eventually float out of place, into the flame and will catch on fire. Just an FYI.

Thank you for your concern in both issues. I have already changed the A&F label and I like this one better! So much more colorful!! :)

As far as the shells, we performed two different tests BEFORE we decided they were safe enough to put in our candles. First, we tried them up against a direct flame. The ONLY thing that happened was ONE out of the 8 I tried burning up chipped off. The others just got hot to touch. Never caught on fire. The 2nd test we tested them in an actual candle. None of them floated anywhere. They stayed in place and mostly sunk from the liquifed wax. There was no fire or smoke from any of them. IMHO, they are safe enough. Coffee beans catch on fire. Shells, however do not. At least ours didn't.

I've never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed BUT I do test before I put something out on the market. The last thing I want is to hear that someone died from one of my candles catching their house on fire. I'd never forgive myself.
