HEllo, Bored and wanting to dive onto something new. Done some research on lotions and would like to start with a premixed base. Eventually get into making or own recipe. What is everyones thought on the quality of Crafters choice lotions? Also looking at other types but crafters choice keeps popping up. Thanks for any thoughts!

HTP wicks are also coated and recommended by A&P. We use a 41 for most and have great results.

Wow... Im amazed that you can get such large wicks to work without overheating. Im using the large salsa jar any from candle science and 6006. Currently using a 44-28-18 c. Trying any of these wicks in a standard 8 oz jelly jar causes massive over heating. Can you post some pics of them burning correctly with your combo? Im just lost as to WHY i cant get it to work. Im down to a 34-40 in a jelly jar and thats seeming to big....Not critisizing anyone at all just looking into this as its troubled me for a loooong time lol.

Who has a good cinnamon scent? Cs has a great one but cannot get it to burn right in 6006 wax. Also a good pumpkin?

44-24-18c works for most. some need 44-32-18c scents are all from candle science.

My flames with the HTP-105 and the HTP-1212 were very nice 3/4" or less well-behaved flames. This is making me wonder if the CS HTP wicks are quite different than the HTP wicks I get from Peak's.
Its been awhile since i used peaks wicks. When i did i didnt notice and major difference. I also used wicks from EAC and they are the same as cs.

Wow! Well, I will definitely try it! Thank you!
Def let me know your results as im curious now. Makes no sense that there is that different of results.
-
Yup Im positive. Mesured the jar too. # inch top 4 inch height.

But, are you sure was it 4627 Comfort Blend wax that you were able to wick with HTP-83 in the 3" diameter jars?
positive.
-
The exact specifications are: status jar, 4627 from cs ( about 4 months ago)CS egyptian amber 8% load. Medium brown dye. CS HTP wicks. i just tried a 1212 in a candle and got an insane flame.
-
So, you can wick 4627 Comfort Blend with HTP 73 or 83 in the 3" dia Dollar Tree Status jar? Or are you thinking of the narrower diameter Libbey status jar and/or Anchor metro jar?
I've been using HTP-83 to wick comfort blend with 8% FO load in the 8 oz quilted jelly jar and the Libbey Elemental jar, but I think they'd be too small in the Dollar Tree status jar because it's much wider. I might need to wick down to an HTP-73 in my jelly jars with lighter FOs, because the Peak's Peppermint Kiss is getting a bit too hot with the HTP-83 in that jar.
I have used all the wicks above with great results in the libbey jar and dollar tree status jar. They are both the 3 inch round ones.

I have used alot of CS oils in that size jar at an 8 percent load with an HTP 73-HTP 83 and 44-24-18c. Great results with all of them. Just started messing around with an eco 2 so far so good with 4627 egyptian amber and 8 % load

www.uspto.gov and see if it really is trademarked.

French color and fragrance. have them develop the strongest best smelling fragrance they are capable of.

See ive tried the mac apple in 6006, cbl125 and j50 it ROCKS... in the 4627 its only mediocre. Ive tried several wicks and the same results. Just interesting that it isnt throwing lol.
-
We've found that with peaks and cs cinnamon oils this is common. Try stepping it down a bit and it may burn better.
-
Flower can you name a few oils that throw good for you? I have a bunch of their oils id like to make a candle and test.. if you dont mind sharing?
Thanks
-
Interesting 4627 is supposed to have awesome throw. Candle science oils are pretty amazing in everything else ive played with but im just not getting good HT with any of CS oils in 4627 using HTP wicks in shisper jars decent MP but the throw just isnt there.
Des anyone use 4627 and CS oils Mac apple for one?

using the correct size wick will prevent the plastic from melting. Have you ever see an aluminum cup catch fire? There is no melting when aluminum catches fire is is a simple flash and melted glob.

Signed up for both. The square reader came today. Been playing with it im noticing it seems to be finikey as to how it wants the card swiped. If its not perfectly straight no go. Im liking the simplicity of it. Still waiting on intuits it should be here in a few days. I ran a few transactions through square and no problems super easy so far.

Thinking of toying with some new glass. The anchor flared square jar. Has anyone else ever made a candle in it? If so what did you think of it?
-
No not zinc. Cotton cored zincs tended to mushroom to much for us. The jar was the salsa far from Candle Science. The wax was 6006 from EAC in pittsburgh and most fragrances were from Candle Science and just Scent.

We use a 44-28-18c in a 3.5 inch diameter candles with great results
Make your own or Premade base?

Those that make lotions, creams, scrubs, shower gel etc. Do you make your own or purchase ready made bases? I ordered some premade bases to experiment with but really like the idea of making own base to get a firm grasp on whats really in the product.
