What does Pink Peony smell like? Is it FO or EO and where can I buy it?Thanks

I read somewhere that you can inject FO into various stuffed animals to use as an air freshener. Has anyone every done this? If so, how long does the fragrance last? Also does it matter what kind of animals you use?

Can you use cardstock paper? I think the heavier paper comes in pretty prints too. If anyone has a Sizzix you could make your own shapes.

Sharon when you say to add new soap what exactly do you mean? Add more base or use a store bought bar and melt it down? I am confused sorry!

Thanks to everyone for your input. Guess I'll just have to chalk this one up to a newbie booboo. The base I was using was from the Chemistry Store and it was with shea butter. Where is the best place to get mp bases? If I start from scratch will I ever be able to get a batch that has bubbles or just creamy lather? My ultimate goal is to do cp but thought I should get comfortable with mp first.

I rebatched my mp to get more bubbles. Had approx. 2.5 lbs and added 4T coconut oil, 4 T castor oil, 4 T glycerin and just a smitch less than 1/4 c goats milk. Still don't have bubbles. Can I just remelt and add more castor oil? If so how much? Husband likes bubbles when he showers and there just aren't any? Thanks

My goal is more lather. I have 2 lb m&p shea base, 12 oz. previously made m&p soap w/fo, coconut oil and goats milk. If I melt the previously made soap with the 2 lb base and add coconut oil and goats milk, (1) will I get more lather(2) can I just shave the already made soap into the base(3) how much coconut oil and goats milk would I use(4) how much additional fo would I have to use if any. Does this sound crazy?

I bought the base from The Chemistry Store. They were 2 lb blocks. If I am using a 2 lb block do I just add the 2 T. of goats milk before melting. Can I use the canned goats milk. Have seen that at Walmart. Guess I didn't wait long enough before trying to unmold. I have a recipe that uses musk oil and vanilla. Is that regular pure vanilla or an fo? It doesn't say.

Saw a technique using clear m&p base and ceramic paints and stamps. You pour a layer, stamp designs, pour another layer. My question is what happens when you use the soap down to the stamped part? Does the paint wash off or does it get on your body as you use it?

Took the plunge and made my first two batches of m&p soap. Used shea butter m&p base, added fo and color. My first batch I think I waited too long to pour and it started to set up but I got three good bars. Didn't use anything in the molds first and had a heck of a time getting them out. The second batch I used petroleum jelly and I still think I waited too long to pour and I used a 3d mold in addition to the rectangle ones. Still had trouble getting them out. My only dislike with the m&p soap is that there is very little lather. Is it the brand of base or can I add anything the next time to get more lather? Would it be better to buy a plain base and then add shea butter?

I have everything to make m&p first time. Am confused about the molds. Do you use petroleum jelly, alcohol or nothing? Do you cover the bowl with plastic or not? If you just cut up the chunks how do you know you have the right amount? Am using Chemistry Store m&p shea butter. Has anyone used this and is it good? Can you remelt and add more chunks if you have too much for one batch? How long can you wait to use it before it starts to set up? I've read where this is the easiest soap to make. Am I making it harder than I should?

I am having trouble finding Anise FO for my M&P soap. Can I use the pure anise oil that's used in baking and if so how much do I use?

Been lurking and checking different soap forums for information and this one has some of the best information. I have done much reading and research and have decided to try making M&P first. I have sent for some soap on a rope molds to use and some shea butter M&P. I have never used M&P but thought I would give it a try. I have been using homemade soap for the last few years and love it. How can I use different FO's in the same batch for variety or do I have to do a separate batch for each FO. Also how do I know how many molds to use for each batch. I would eventually like to do CP. Also has anyone used a FO called Citron Fig. I bought some handmade soap in this fragrance and it smells wonderful. However, I have looked on several websites and have not found it. Thanks for any help or suggestions you might give me.
