  1. Beautiful colors. I've been seeing a lot of Clean Cotton on the board, might be I'll have to pick some up and try it. What's the cure time on soy wax for a test burn? I've started with regular parrifin and generally wait 2 - 3 days.
  2. Well, I just got done leafing through all 225 pages of posts in this thread and...WOW! So much useful and helpful information! Even after ignoring all the "check out my website", "need suppliers for..." and "here's my label" threads, the knowledge and experience you have all accumulated and shared is amazing! I feel as though I've picked the individual brains of each of you . My favs were the ones where good advise (does this thing have spellchecker?) was offered to newbies (like myself) and good first (craft, house party, etc.) show experiences. Even the poor events serve as learning experiences for me on what I might expect to run across as I become active out there. Thank you to everyone of you who have taken the, trouble and patience to help out sooo many other people, most of whom you're never likely to meet.
  3. Thank you! The Love Spell took me by surprise as I was just testing my new liquid dyes and wanted to see how it would turn out. I'm the type who goes "what will happen when I do this" just to see the reulsts. Of course, I've had to do a complete re-install on my computer a few times after that question, LOL! Good thing I keep a journal of my recipes
  4. Sorry for the large images, but I'm afraid if I size them down any further they'll disappear! I really like how this one came out! Great color, wonderful scent (Love Spell). Still need to improve the number of pours... 4 again on this batch. This batch showed improvment on the pours, only had 2 this time! Still need a little work, but much better! This pic shows off the color better than the one above. Was going for the deep purple of a ripe blackberry. Not bad for being colorblind! Wish I had started this many years ago!
  5. I'm so sorry for the bad experiences many of you have to deal with! I really appreciate our mail delivery more when I hear events like these. Our mail carrier always brings packages that won't easily fit into the mailbox up to the house, knock on the door and will even place them inside if the door isn't locked and she gets no answer. FedEx will knock on the door and maybe place packages inside, and UPS will leave items on the deck next to the door (in any weather). It sure beats having horror stories to share! LOL
  6. Those are candles?! Even if they're not, they're adorable! So many talented people to sneak ideas from ;-)
  7. Thanks everyone. It IS fun and I'm a Curious George, always like to experiment. It burns well, a good even pool all around. Today I made a set in Cinnamon, (pillar, votives, container), played with the additives and recorded the reuslts. Lots to learn and do!
  8. Okay, after looking around for a bit, I've decided to take the plunge. This is my first candle, completed just this evening. It has a Honeysuckle scent and colored using light gold. This little (3 inch X 4 1/2 inch) puppy took me four pours to complete! Perhaps I should have let it cool longer before the second pour? (wry grin) I think I have it upside down (?), but I already cut the wick off the other end. Overall, I think it turned out well enough to build a future upon. I've seen some other "Firsts" on this board. I'm looking forward to becoming that good!
