Yep, another fan of Peaks here. I get at least 60% of my FO from there.

For some reason with the title of this thread I was expecting to see a picture of Santa or a snowman. Guess I have Christmas on the mind. Beautiful candle and I'll bet it smells great!

Get some sleep. :smiley2:

Hey, those are pretty. Excellent job!

I think (I THINK ::fingers crossed:: ) my pots are all going back on the shelf. If I've judged things half-assed right I've got enough stock poured to get through the holiday shows. But still not done because tomorrow will be a full day of packaging soap.

Those are absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

Does winter wonderland work well in soy?
It works so well in 464 that it really doesn't seem to need any cure time.
-
I don't like pines much either but I do like Peak's Winter Wonderland. It's plenty piney enough to fulfill my needs for a tree scent but complex enough to take it to a whole different level. It sold pretty well last year, too.

That's my cinnaberry blend. Customers love it!

Fir, mint, and vanilla. I just finished pouring a batch.
ditto, with heavy emphasis on the fir (and pine). Not even close to cranberry marmalade.
-
Oh those are pretty, pretty, pretty!

Mint is the obvious choice because rosemary mint is so standard. But I actually prefer it with more of a floral pairing - like lavender, rose or jasmine. The floral helps to sweeten up the rosemary, and the rosemary can help the florals from being too sickly sweet.
Eta: I haven't actually used CS's fo. just meant my preferences about rosemary in general.

IME my tarts never last as long in a tea light melter as compared to an electric melter. Depending on how close the tea light flame is to the wax bowl, the tea light can cause the wax to get much hotter and therefore burn the FO off faster.

I forgot to mention that your scent must be mild. Quite a few cancer patients have told me that their sense of smell is not only "off", but heightened.
Ditto. I gave candles to my cousin during her chemo and her choices were always either Pink Sugar or Christmas Eve, both on the mild side. There were many FOs she couldn't tolerate, even though they had been favorites before her treatments.

Thank you, guys! I'm going to check out those suggestions.

Fantastic is right. Beautiful!

That's very cool looking but I think that second bar is staring at me. I always hate it when soap stares at me. :smiley2:

Jonsie, get your friend one of those metal candle-topper lids with the cut-outs. It'll stop flickering in an instant. I always keep a few on hand for the occasional customer who might comment on flickering but, to tell you the truth, it doesn't come up often.

Has anyone tried Vanilla Buttercream Crunch from Just Scents? It supposed to be "toe curling" and their best seller. Is it really that good?
This is a very good seller for me. But like the description says, it's a very heavy buttery/toffee fragrance so not a true vanilla if that's what you're looking for. That said, I've stop carrying a straight vanilla. I've tried more than a few but once customers smell the VBCrunch, the vanillas seem bland by comparison.

It's easier for me to see the results because I don't use color and I use a clear pour pot. Left alone even for a minute or so and the fo begins to collect on the bottom. HTH
Steve, how do you ever get a candle or tart to set up without separating then? If the fo would separate in the pot after sitting for a minute, it seems it would also separate in your poured container. Plus, after every burn. Or am I not following your train of thought correctly?

Those darn tornadoes anyway!

That is very cool looking soap. And perfect for the fragrance!
-
Holy crap, that soap is making me hungry. Beautiful!

Ok...so before I read any text, my mind said Sedonas...Amazing work! You nailed it,
I thought exactly the same thing - could guess the fragrance before even reading the post. Cool work!

Yes, I had trouble with that one, too. I tried it a while back for a swap but ended up ditching the whole mess. I even got stubborn and tried a second time, tweaking my working temps but still no luck. Too bad, too, because I think it would've been a very nice smelling soap.
