  • About You
I am a Housewife & have (2) 10 year old boys. Over the last 10 years I have been working in an Accounting Dept and stressed. My husband & I decided that I say home so we can start a home-base Candle Business. We have been testing 2 types of wax & many wicks. At this point I am hoping for some suggestions from experienced candle makers.

  1. Hi Dusty - I am so glad that you have had success with the 16 oz. apothecary jars. Unfortunately, I do not have the patience or luck with these jars. If by chance you need to stock your inventory - let me know, because I am moving to the next jar.
  2. Thank you so much Naomi! I am not alone. I think that I will do the same and leave these jars in the case or sell them. Even looking at them makes me cringe.
  3. Ok I have been trying to wick this monster for the past year with no success. I have been using C3, mix of C3 and Container Palm(50/50) and Production One Pour from C&S. (Not at the same time) I have used single and double wicking from Papercore, LX, Eco, Premier, CD, HTP etc. I get a good burn the top half and the middle or 3/4 of the way down the flames deminish to about 1/4" or smaller. I wick up & I get a wicked flame and smoke in the beginning and it still minimizes considerably. As far as the FO, I have used 1 oz. per lb. to 1.5 oz per lb. with the same result. Does anyone have the secret to this jar? It is driving me crazy !! Thank you in advance for any suggestions or secrets :smiley2:
  4. Sorry to hear that you had to pour out fragrance... I guess I will learn some of the candle making elements in time. Thanks for the replies!
  5. Hi Jane - I am testing Black Cherry from Candles & Supplies right now & having hardly any scent throw. The last scent that I have tested was the Clean Cotton- Yankee type, which did have a wonderful scent throw, but frosted like crazy after burning. The wax I am using is GW444 & C-3. This morning I placed an order for Royal Aromatics in NJ. They say that they formulate all their fragrances for the use. So I will be testing like crazy in a couple of weeks. Good Luck! Candice
  6. Hi all - Newbie here. I just ordered some fragrances from Royal Aromatics for making soy candles. Has anyone ever used Royal Aromatic before? Candice
